{"id":433168,"date":"2020-05-24T11:07:30","date_gmt":"2020-05-24T18:07:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=433168"},"modified":"2020-05-24T11:07:30","modified_gmt":"2020-05-24T18:07:30","slug":"matt-grevers-to-compete-on-espn-peloton-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/matt-grevers-to-compete-on-espn-peloton-show\/","title":{"rendered":"Matt Grevers to Compete on ESPN Peloton Show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With gyms closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, spin bike has been a big form of exercise and Peloton is sponsoring an ESPN special on May 30 as professional athletes do Peloton rides.<\/p>\n<p>Olympic gold medalist <strong>Matt Grevers<\/strong> is scheduled to be one of those participants, according to <em>Stark Insider<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Other men\u2019s competitors include former football player and ESPN analyst <strong>Booger McFarland<\/strong>, along with football players <strong>Kyle Rudolph<\/strong> and <strong>Mike Golic Jr.<\/strong>, and basketball player <strong>Gordon Hayward<\/strong>. Major golf champions <strong>Rory McIlroy<\/strong>, <strong>Bubba<\/strong> <strong>Watson<\/strong> and <strong>Justin Thomas<\/strong> round out the men\u2019s group.<\/p>\n<p>The women\u2019s participants include Olympic track legend <strong>Allyson Felix<\/strong> as well as former No. 1 tennis player in the world <strong>Victoria Azarenka<\/strong> and LPGA major winner <strong>Morgan Pressel<\/strong>. The group also includes track star <strong>Colleen Quigley<\/strong>, Olympic gymnast <strong>Kyla Ross<\/strong>, basketball player <strong>Dawn Staley<\/strong>, softball player <strong>Michele Smith<\/strong> and tennis star <strong>Monica<\/strong> <strong>Puig<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Peloton instructors <strong>Alex Toussaint<\/strong> and <strong>Robin Arzon<\/strong> will each lead the groups.<\/p>\n<p>Grevers made the U.S. Olympic team in 2008 and 2012. He won a total of five medals \u2014\u00a0four gold and one silver.
