Banned Australian swim star Shayna Jack\u2019s<\/strong> fight to save her career is closer to resolution as she forges ahead towards a hearing with the Court of Arbitration for Sport.<\/p>\n

Jack\u2019s coach Dean Boxall<\/strong> has told Australian media that his charge could well be informed within days of her pending CAS appeal hearing.<\/p>\n

Australian media outlets reported today that Jack is most likely to make a video conferencing appearance due to COVId-19 restrictions to appeal a four-year ban recommended by the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority in March.<\/p>\n

The Commonwealth Games gold medallist and member of Australia’s world record breaking 4x100m freestyle relay team was sent home from the Australian team camp in Japan (en-route to Korea for the Fina World Championships) last year after she had tested positive to Ligandrol, a muscle growth agent.<\/p>\n

Jack has denied knowingly taking the drug.<\/p>\n

Boxall old ABC radio: “Shayna will hopefully find out this next week when her date is for CAS. Everything has basically been finalised.<\/p>\n

“We are now just waiting for CAS. The finalities are coming up, so that’s exciting.<\/p>\n

“It is coming to the end, which is fantastic. We feel really positive about it.”<\/p>\n

Due to her positive test Jack has been unable to train in Boxall\u2019s squad or any other Swimming Australia High Performance program.<\/p>\n

But Swimming Australia has provided mental health assistance throughout the process.<\/p>\n

Boxall said Jack had been trying to stay optimistic but had still been anxious as her appeal hearing loomed.<\/p>\n

“She is also nervous the poor girl because she knows this is it, you have no more road to go on,” he said.<\/p>\n

“What comes up ahead is where we will be… the date is pretty soon, it will be imminent really.<\/p>\n
