swimming activity.<\/p>\n<p>A notice has been placed on the Swimming Australia website following yesterday\u2019s National Cabinet announcement which saw\u00a0Prime Minister\u00a0<strong>Scott Morrison<\/strong>\u00a0unveil the detailed three-phase plan to revitalise Australia\u2019s economy and to bring the country back to life.<\/p>\n<p>And swimming\u2019s return to the pool will be a major part of that plan which will be music to the ears of all in Australia\u2019s vibrant swimming industry from Learn To Swim to Squads and Elites with Swimming Australia revealing its dealings to ensure Australians can get back in the water.<\/p>\n<p>In a \u00a0statement Swimming Australia said that\u00a0along with State\/Territory associations and the Australian Swimming\u00a0Coaches And Teachers Association (ASCTA), it had been working with the Australian Institute Of Sport (AIS), Sport Australia and Federal and State Governments to understand the impact and plans for sport, in particular swimming.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cAs a collective leadership team across Australia, we have worked on a plan to assist clubs and coaches to safely return to swimming activity, and will release Olympic 1500m gold in the same move.<\/p>\n<p>Paltrinieri\u2019s move represents the first seismic shift in the goal of an Olympic swimming champion as a result of the \u00a0<strong>COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic<\/strong>. Budapest will remain the host, on\u00a0<strong>May 10-23,\u00a0<\/strong>a year after the continental showcase for aquatic sports was due to have taken place before the intervention of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>After\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/european-aquatics-championships-postponed-until-august-as-len-buda-curse-the-pest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LEN announced in March that last month that its showcase championships<\/a>, scheduled for May 11-24 would be postponed until August 17 to 30,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/european-swimming-championships-postponed-until-2021-as-hungarians-return-to-training-at-budapest-duna-arena\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">that timetable was ruled out by the Budapest organisers and the\u00a0<strong>European Swimming League (LEN)\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>against a backdrop of more than 120,000 deaths from the virus in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>Among nations with the highest infection and mortality rates are leading swim nations Britain, Italy, Spain and France. But Kentucky\u2019s local swimming committee (LSC) is fighting against those broad restrictions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Amy Albiero<\/strong>, the general chair of Kentucky Swimming, has submitted proposals aimed at allowing private pools to work toward reopening during the coronavirus pandemic, even as broader prohibitions will keep most pools closed.<\/p>\n<p>Albiero is at the forefront of that effort in her myriad administrative roles. On behalf of Kentucky Swimming, she\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wave3.com\/2020\/05\/03\/louisville-swimming-instructor-submits-proposal-gov-beshear-reopen-pools\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">filed a proposal<\/a>\u00a0to Gov.\u00a0<strong>Andy Beshear<\/strong>\u00a0this week that lays out a procedure by which the state\u2019s 27 swim teams can reopen.
