NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of California, Berkeley has received a new verbal commitment for the fall of 2021 from Israel’s\u00a0Lea Polonsky<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

She will join\u00a0Alicia Henry<\/strong><\/a>, Stephanie Akakabota<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Elizabeth Cook<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Melanie Julia<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Shelby Suppiger<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Ella<\/strong>\u00a0Mazurek<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Annika McEnroe<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Jessica Davis<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Mia Kragh<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0McKenna Stone<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as a member of the Golden Bears’ loaded class of 2025.<\/p>\n

Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m so thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of California Berkeley! I would like to thank my family, coaches, teammates and friends for their incredible support and love. Can\u2019t wait to start this journey . Go Bears!! ???”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Polonsky competes for Israel internationally and finished seventh in the 200m IM at the 7th FINA World Junior Championships in Budapest where she also reached the semifinals of the 100m breast. She most recently had three top-5 finishes at Camille Muffat Golden Tour meet in February.<\/p>\n
