NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Sprint freestyler Cory Shanks <\/strong>of League City, Texas, has given the University of Tennessee another verbal commitment for their growing class of 2025.<\/p>\n

She\u2019ll arrive in Knoxville for the start of the 2021-22 season along with\u00a0Amber Myers<\/strong><\/a>, Sara Stotler<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Kate<\/strong>\u00a0McCarville<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Lauren Wetherell<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Summer Eaker<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Josephine Fuller<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Summer Smith<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Asia Minnes<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m extremely excited and honored to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic career at the University of Tennessee!! I would like to thank my family, friends and my coaches for the unconditional support which led me to where I am now! I cannot wait to be a Volunteer in the class of 2025!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Shanks does her club swimming with South Shore Sails and owns the Olympic Trials cut in the 100m free with three additional Nationals standards. She most recently earned 100% best times at College Station Sectionals where she had four top-8 finishes. Last summer, she earned silver in the 50m free at Southern Zone Seniors.<\/p>\n
