USA Swimming officially moved its Olympic Trials earlier this month to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/usa-swimming-olympic-trials-scheduled-for-june-2021-in-omaha\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">June 13 &#8211; 20<\/a><\/strong>. On Monday, USA Swimming President &amp; CEO\u00a0<strong>Tim Hinchey\u00a0<\/strong>sent a letter to members detailing the tentative dates for the 2020-21 national events schedule.<\/p>\n<p>If the virus is under control by the end of the summer, then USA Swimming will introduce 14 &#8211; 16 regional events in mid to late August. Speedo Sectionals, Futures and the Speedo Summer Championships have been cancelled for this summer in order to refocus on introducing a new series of summer events.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These regionally focused events will limit the need for travel and promote a safer competition environment for our athletes, families and everyone involved,&#8221; the letter said. &#8220;The approval of these event sanctions will be subject to local health guidelines and directives.&#8221; Details will be made available in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The TYR Pro Swim Series will tentatively begin in November in Richmond, Virginia, barring any restrictions from the CDC. Qualifying periods will be announced later this summer by USA Swimming.<\/p>\n<p>This laid out schedule will provide an opportunity for athletes to sketch out a skeleton plan for what the calendar will look like ahead of Trials.
