NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of California, Berkeley has recently scored a new verbal commitment for the fall of 2021 from Alpharetta, Ga. breaststroker\u00a0Alicia Henry<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

She will join Stephanie Akakabota<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Elizabeth Cook<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Melanie Julia<\/strong><\/a>, Shelby Suppiger<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Ella<\/strong>\u00a0Mazurek<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Annika McEnroe<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Jessica Davis<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Mia Kragh<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0McKenna Stone<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as a member of Cal\u2019s loaded class of 2025.<\/p>\n

She told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I\u2019m super excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of California Berkeley! I would like to thank my family, coaches, friends, and teammates for their incredible support throughout this process. Henry, one of the top breaststrokers in the class, swims year-round with Dynamo Swim Club and owns the Olympic Trials cut in the 100m breast. She recently was the 100 breast runner-up at the Southern Premier Invitational and earned bronze in that event as well as took eighth in the 200 breast at Juniors East in December.<\/p>\n

At the Speedo Eastern Classic in January, Henry broke the 31-year old Georgia LSC 100 breast record which was held by former American Record holder Mary Ellen Blanchard\u00a0<\/strong>with an impressive time of 1:00.20.<\/p>\n
