Chalmers has been unstoppable in two powerhouse days of swimming but had to work hard down the final lap to keep Bond boys Alex Graham (1:47.11) and Elijah Winnington (Coach <strong>Richard Scarce<\/strong>) at bay in a helter-skelter race to lock in places in Australia\u2019s individual and world championship winning 4x200m freestyle relay.\u00a0Winnington later negative split the 800m (4:03.40\/3:58.26) 8:01.66 for his second gold of the meet after winning the 400m last night &#8211; just outside the time but certainly in the mix alongside Australia&#8217;s No 1 backstroker <strong>Mitch Larkin.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Australia\u2019s most consistent swimmer of the summer <strong>Kiah Melverton <\/strong>(TSS Aquatic \u2013 Coach <strong>Chris Nesbit<\/strong>) won her 11<sup>th<\/sup> State title of the season (in Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia) adding the 400m freestyle in 4:09.23 to her 800m win on night one, leaving <strong>Dahlas Rogers<\/strong> (USC Spartans, Coach <strong>Chris Mooney<\/strong>) 4:12.05 and World Junior Champion <strong>Lani Pallister<\/strong> (Cotton Tree &#8211; Photo Courtesy: Anthony Burns (Homepix)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cIt is always good to come back here and race, its where I grew up racing at NSW Country and State Championships so it\u2019s always nice to come back here and be swimming some quick times at this time of year. It gives you confidence as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need to be able to swim swim quick in the morning and this morning I wasn\u2019t really expecting to swim that quick (57.19) so that put me in a good mind set for tonight\u2019s swim,\u201d McKeon said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have to practice swimming quick in the mornings and I just tried to relax because in my butterfly I rush it a bit too much because I\u2019m more of a technical swimmer and that\u2019s what gives me the early speed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And McKeon knows she has to he on song for the first morning of the Games where she is scheduled to swim the 100m butterfly semi-final and then the final of the women\u2019s 4x100m freestyle relay.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo I need to back it up with more speed. The training that Michael (Bohl) gives us helps with that as well,\u201d said McKeon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m used to swimming multiple events and as I get older I want to keep improving; but it does give me confidence swimming this fast now (particularly when) we don\u2019t know when our next competition will be.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe 100m freestyle (beating Cate Campbell in 53.00) was really good; that\u2019s the quickest I\u2019ve been unrested and I\u2019m really enjoying my swimming at the moment so that\u2019s making a big difference.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were planning on doing one meet per month (but we are now not going to the Pro Swim Meet in Mission Viejo next month) so its good to get some fast times on the board now.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHopefully we\u2019ll have the Sydney Open (in May) and we always do some suited racing at home; there\u2019s always something we can do to replicate the racing with a lot of good competition around us (in South East Queensland).<\/p>\n<p>In other events&#8230;.<strong>Matthew Wilson<\/strong> (SOSC) won the men&#8217;s 100m breaststroke in 1:00.39;
