The 2020 Pac-12 Men\u2019s Championships continued with Friday’s prelims session from Federal Way, Washington.<\/p>\n

After the relay disqualification on the first night, defending NCAA champion Cal had its work cut out.<\/p>\n

But the Golden Bears earned two 1-2-3 sweeps on Thursday to bounce back. They still aren\u2019t winning the meet, but are right on Stanford\u2019s heels.<\/p>\n

Pac-12 Men\u2019s Championships: 400 IM<\/h3>\n
Cal continued its showing of extremely strong depth to start the Friday morning session as the Golden Bears took the top four seeds in the 400 IM.<\/p>\n
Cal freshman Jason Louser<\/strong> took the top seed in 3:40.44, followed by sophomore Hugo Gonzalez<\/strong> (3:41.31), sophomore Chris Jhong<\/strong> (3:41.41) and junior Sean Grieshop<\/strong> (3:43.86).<\/p>\n
Stanford\u2019s Alex Liang<\/strong> took the fifth seed in 3:44.38, ahead of Arizona\u2019s Etay Gurevich<\/strong> (3:46.43), Arizona State\u2019s Benjamin Olszewski<\/strong> (3:46.77) and Utah\u2019s Jackson Cunningham<\/strong> (3:48.43).<\/p>\n

Pac-12 Men\u2019s Championships: 100 Butterfly<\/h3>\n
Arizona State\u2019s Cody Bybee<\/strong> took the top seed in the 100 butterfly. He finished in 45.48 to hold off a trio of Cal swimmers.<\/p>\n
Ryan Hoffer<\/strong> took the second seed in 45.54, followed by teammates Zheng Quah<\/strong> (45.83) and Pawel Sendyk<\/strong> (45.87).<\/p>\n
Utah\u2019s Ben Waterman<\/strong> took the fifth seed in 46.23, followed by Arizona\u2019s Noah Reid<\/strong> (46.29), Arizona State\u2019s Evan Carlson<\/strong> (46.51) and USC\u2019s Nikola Miljenic<\/strong> (46.61).<\/p>\n

Pac-12 Men\u2019s Championships: 200 Free<\/h3>\n
Arizona State freshman Jack Dolan<\/strong> took the top seed in the 200 free, finishing in 1:33.55, just ahead of Cal\u2019s Trenton Julian<\/strong> (1:33.62).<\/p>\n
Dolan was one of three Arizona State freshman to make the final.<\/p>\n
Arizona\u2019s Jorge Iga<\/strong> took third in 1:33.71, ahead of Arizona State\u2019s Carter Swift<\/strong> (1:33.93).<\/p>\n
Arizona\u2019s Daniel Namir<\/strong> took the fifth seed in 1:34.48, followed by Arizona State freshman Julian<\/strong> Hill<\/strong> (1:34.54), Stanford\u2019s Mason Gonzalez<\/strong> (1:34.54) and Arizona State freshman Andrew Gray<\/strong> (1:34.60).<\/p>\n

Pac-12 Men\u2019s Championships: 100 Backstroke<\/h3>\n
Arizona State senior Zachary Poti<\/strong> took the top spot in the 100 back, finishing in 44.14.<\/p>\n
He was the lone swimmer to break 45 in the prelims.<\/p>\n
Cal\u2019s Daniel Carr<\/strong> took the second seed in 45.09, ahead of Arizona\u2019s Thomas Anderson<\/strong> (46.04) and Cal\u2019s Bryce Mefford<\/strong> (46.33).<\/p>\n
Stanford\u2019s Benjamin Ho<\/strong> took the fifth seed (46.36), followed by Cal\u2019s Ethan Young<\/strong> (46.57), USC\u2019s Jack Kirby<\/strong> (46.79) and Cal\u2019s Andy Xianyan Song<\/strong> (47.13).<\/p>\n
