Pointing the finger squarely at Swimming Australia, for \u201csitting on its hands\u201d and not leading the charge to get <strong>Mack Horton<\/strong>\u00a0the 400m freestyle World title back from<strong> Sun Yang<\/strong>, now the Chinese swimmer has been slapped with an eight-year ban to go alongside his positive doping test of 2014.<\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/sun-friends-at-fina-stole-the-dreams-of-swimmers-coaches-worldwide-ascta\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ASCTA issued a statement accusing Sun and FINA off having &#8216;stolen the dreams of swimmers and coaches around the world&#8217;<\/a>, Shaw told<em> Swimming World<\/em>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>\u201cWe had our swimmers robbed of gold medals in the 70s, 80-s and 90s \u2026 and I can\u2019t believe it\u2019s 2020 and we are having to go through this all again.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>\u201cIt\u2019s a joke that has to be sorted; not via emails and behind closed doors; we as an association representing the coaches demand action to taken \u00a0\u2013 it&#8217;s time to make Mack a world champion.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have not heard one word from Swimming Australia; not one word; why aren\u2019t they doing something immediately in support of <strong>Mack and his coach Craig Jackson<\/strong>?\u00a0This has impacted not only Mack Horton, an extraordinary young Australian, who we are all so proud of, but also his parents who are going through hell protecting their son and then there\u2019s the coach Craig Jackson.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The heat from Australian coaches and swimmers has prompted\u00a0<strong>Swimming Australia CEO Leigh Russell<\/strong>\u00a0to acknowledge the &#8220;critical issues&#8221; that need raising &#8211; and will be raised &#8211; with FINA. but nothing, not a word; time to act Swimming Australia\u2026stop sitting on your hands and stir the pot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMack and Craig should be recognised as not only an Olympic champion swimmer and coach but also now a World Champion swimmer and coach and with it the rewards; the gold medal and in this case the $20,000 FINA put up for a gold medal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe record has to\u00a0be\u00a0set straight; the judge has handed down his verdicts and they deserve their rewards;
