The Wolverines celebrated their 41st overall conference title in men&#8217;s swimming and diving.<\/p>\n<p>Michigan collected wins on Saturday night from seniors\u00a0<strong>Felix Aub\u00f6ck\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Tommy Cope<\/strong>, with the latter winning his first ever individual title.<\/p>\n<p>The Hoosiers actually finished in third place behind Ohio State. Wisconsin finished in fourth place for their highest finish since 2001.<\/p>\n<p>Indiana had a really good night with wins from\u00a0<strong>Gabriel Fantoni<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Bruno Blaskovic\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Brendan Burns<\/strong>. Michigan State         309<\/pre>\n<h3>1650 Free<\/h3>\n<p>Michigan senior\u00a0<strong>Felix Aub\u00f6ck\u00a0<\/strong>started off the night with a 14:30.10 in the 1650 freestyle as he won for the fourth straight season. He also swept four years of the 500 freestyle as the Austrian is the first Big Ten man to win four 1650 titles since Olympic bronze medalist\u00a0<strong>Chris Thompson\u00a0<\/strong>won from 1998 &#8211; 2001. Thompson also won four 500 titles.<\/p>\n<p>Aub\u00f6ck\u00a0 went 1-2 with fellow Wolverine\u00a0<strong>Ricardo Vargas\u00a0<\/strong>(14:39.48) as both guys should advance to the fastest heat at NCAAs in 25 days. Aub\u00f6ck is currently ranked second while Vargas is fifth. Indiana sophomore\u00a0<strong>Mikey Calvillo\u00a0<\/strong>had a good showing in his home pool with a 14:54.02 for third place\u00a0 as he added from his mid-season best of 14:46.<\/p>\n<p>Michigan also scored freshman\u00a0<strong>Daniel Berlitz\u00a0<\/strong>(14:58.54) and junior\u00a0<strong>William Roberts <\/strong>(15:00.58) in the top eight for huge points.<\/p>\n<p>Indiana&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>John Gallant\u00a0<\/strong>(15:00.07), Wisconsin&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Matthew Hillmer\u00a0<\/strong>(15:00.25) and Fantoni\u00a0<\/strong>swept the backstroke events at the Big Ten men&#8217;s swimming and diving championships as the Hoosiers have gotten off to a great start in their home pool on Saturday night. Fantoni won from lane 7 with a 1:40.31, adding on to his 100 back title from last night. Blaskovic won the 100 freestyle on the final night of the Big Ten Men&#8217;s Swimming and Diving Championships with a 41.88 as he was the only swimmer to break 42 seconds. He set the pool record this morning of 41.49 and was barely off the meet record of 41.43 from\u00a0<strong>Blake Pieroni\u00a0<\/strong>two years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Indiana has now won four of the last Big Ten titles in the 100 freestyle as Pieroni won three from 2016 &#8211; 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Ohio State&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrew Loy\u00a0<\/strong>(42.21) finished in second after he won the 200 IM and 200 freestyle earlier in the meet. He has a shot to be named the swimmer of the championships.<\/p>\n<p>Indiana&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mohamed Samy\u00a0<\/strong>finished in third at 42.38, scoring big points for the Hoosiers who are trying to hold on to second place. Sophomore\u00a0<strong>Jack Franzman\u00a0<\/strong>swam his best time in getting fourth at 42.45. McHugh could not double up after he won the 100 breast last night.<\/p>\n<p>All three of those guys should meet again in 25 days at the NCAA championships in Indianapolis.<\/p>\n<p>Michigan won its first Big Ten title in the 200 breaststroke since\u00a0<strong>Scott Spann\u00a0<\/strong>won in 2008. The Hoosiers had a good race from Ohio State, who finished second at 2:49.20.
