Florida International now leads by 126 points over Rice, 712.5-586.5. FIU was led by two gold medal performances from sophomore <strong>Michaela Trnkova<\/strong>, and three podium finishes from junior <strong>Julia Miranda<\/strong>.\u00a0Florida Atlantic follows in a distant third with 295, and Marshall, University of North Texas, and Old Dominion continue to fight for fourth. The three are separated by a mere 30 points. Marshall stands in fourth (242.5), University of North Texas in fifth behind Marshall by just 7.5 points (235), and Old Dominion rounds out the field in sixth place (212.5). However individually, the event belonged to Florida International junior <strong>Stephanie Hussey<\/strong>, who dominated the event from start to finish to take the win by over four seconds with an NCAA &#8216;B&#8217; cut time of 4:16.30. Rice teammates\u00a0<strong>Hannah Sumbera\u00a0<\/strong>(4:20.45),\u00a0<strong>Sarah Nowaski\u00a0<\/strong>(4:20.71),\u00a0<strong>Erin Vance\u00a0<\/strong>(4:21.68),\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Claire Therien\u00a0<\/strong>(4:22.03) took places two through five for the Owls. Florida International teammates\u00a0<strong>Julia Miranda\u00a0<\/strong>(53.87),\u00a0<strong>Sara Gyertyanffy<\/strong> (53.95), and <strong>Kasia Kolodziej\u00a0<\/strong>(54.14) placed second through fourth and were followed by Marshall senior\u00a0<strong>Hannah Robins\u00a0<\/strong>(54.27), Rice junior\u00a0<strong>Brittany\u00a0Bui\u00a0<\/strong>(54.37),\u00a0and Florida International teammates\u00a0<strong>Emily Cordovi\u00a0<\/strong>(54.79), and\u00a0<strong>Kelsie Campbell\u00a0<\/strong>(55.28). Rice took the top three spots of the B final, lead by junior\u00a0<strong>Becca Brandt\u00a0<\/strong>winning the B in 54.92. Florida International freshman\u00a0<strong>Mandy Song<\/strong> won her second diving event with a score of 326.25 from the 1 meter board, a nearly 20 point victory. After a narrowly close 150 yards of racing, Rice sophomore\u00a0<strong>Marta Cano Minarro\u00a0<\/strong>pulled away with a 26.82 split in the final 50 to earn the Conference USA Championship in the 200 freestyle with an NCAA &#8216;B&#8217; cut time of 1:46.84. The entire field of eight A finalists were separated by a mere 1.17 seconds entering the final 50 of the race. Florida International freshmen <strong>Lamija Medosevic\u00a0<\/strong>(1:48.05), and 50 freestyle champion\u00a0<strong>Jasmine Nocentini\u00a0<\/strong>(1:48.19) placed second and third. They were followed very shortly behind by Rice juniors\u00a0<strong>Lindsay Mathys\u00a0<\/strong>(1:48.22) and 500 freestyle champion\u00a0<strong>Ellery Parish\u00a0<\/strong>(1:48.31) for fourth and fifth place respectively. Marshall teammates\u00a0<strong>Darby Coles\u00a0<\/strong>(1:48.47) and\u00a0<strong>Catherine Bendziewicz\u00a0<\/strong>(1:49.50) followed in sixth and seventh and were followed by Florida International freshman\u00a0<strong>Eriana Temperino<\/strong> (1:50.34). University of North Texas teammates\u00a0<strong>Leigh Faires McGee\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>London Farris<\/strong> both broke the 1:50 barrier to take first and second in the B final with times of 1:49.60 and 1:49.96. The three were followed by Rice teammates\u00a0<strong>Nicole Limberg\u00a0<\/strong>(1:02.02),\u00a0<strong>Phillis Range\u00a0<\/strong>(1:02.14), and\u00a0<strong>Sini Koivu\u00a0<\/strong>(1:02.83) for fourth, fifth and sixth place. Rounding out the championship final were Florida Atlantic senior\u00a0<strong>Timah Westbrook\u00a0<\/strong>in seventh (1:03.36), and\u00a0Old Dominion freshman\u00a0<strong>Tara Enneking\u00a0<\/strong>in eighth (1:03.49).
