Woodson &#8211; 245<br \/>\n2. Cosby &#8211; 207<br \/>\n3. Oakton &#8211; 160<br \/>\n4. Battlefield &#8211; 147<br \/>\n5. Robinson &#8211; 135<\/p>\n<p>Woodson&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Eric Lundgren\u00a0<\/strong>(23.33),\u00a0<strong>Joe Schaefer\u00a0<\/strong>(25.53),\u00a0<strong>Kent Codding\u00a0<\/strong>(22.16), and\u00a0<strong>John Schaefer\u00a0<\/strong>(21.05) began the meet by winning the 4&#215;50 medley relay in 1:32.07. Fairfax&#8217;s <strong>Peter Makin<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/auburn-adds-2020-verbal-from-freestyler-backstroker-peter-makin-of-nations-capital\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">another Auburn commit<\/a>, powered home to a win in the 100 back with a time of 50.17, just ahead of Lundgren (50.23).<\/p>\n<p>Oliver, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/auburn-adds-verbal-from-virginia-5a-state-champion-sam-oliver-for-2020-21-season\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">who has committed to Auburn<\/a>, won the 200 free in 1:39.32, holding off Battlefield&#8217;s <strong>Henry Radzikowski\u00a0<\/strong>(1:39.69) and Washington-Liberty&#8217;s <strong>Jack Mowery\u00a0<\/strong>(1:39.82). Oliver then went on to post an eight-second victory in the 500 free, dropping nine seconds from his prelims time to win the event in 4:22.99.<\/p>\n<p>Cosby&#8217;s <strong>Cameron Dafoe\u00a0<\/strong>won the 200 IM, stopping the clock in 1:50.04 to finish eight-tenths ahead of Patriot&#8217;s <strong>Landon Gentry\u00a0<\/strong>(1:50.84). Gentry then<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>flew to the top of the podium in the 100 fly after getting his hands to the wall the quickest in 48.75, just out-touching runner-up\u00a0<strong>Sorab Aman\u00a0<\/strong>(48.83) of West Springfield.<\/p>\n<p>Grimm, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/texas-longhorns-land-huge-verbal-commitment-from-anthony-grimm-for-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a future Texas Longhorn<\/a>, successfully defended his state title in the 50 free after splashing-and-dashing his way to the wall in 19.79 as the only swimmer under the 20-second mark. His time was just off his own state and class record of 19.67 set at this meet in 2019. He also won the 100 breast in 53.86, fast enough for a new Class 6 and state record.<\/p>\n<p>James Madison&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sam Duncan\u00a0<\/strong>dove to the top spot on the one-meter board, posting a final score of 530.80 to best the field by 35 points. Woodson&#8217;s <strong>Aiken Do\u00a0<\/strong>sprinted to the gold medal in the 100 free, finishing with a swift 44.83 for the win.<\/p>\n<p>Washington-Liberty&#8217;s Mowery(21.14),\u00a0<strong>Adi Kahbhampaty\u00a0<\/strong>(21.54),\u00a0<strong>Carson Silva\u00a0<\/strong>(21.89), and\u00a0<strong>Sean Conley\u00a0<\/strong>(20.65) combined to win the 4&#215;50 free relay in 1:25.22. Oakton&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Graham Evers\u00a0<\/strong>(48.06),\u00a0<strong>Carl Blakney\u00a0<\/strong>(47.84),\u00a0<strong>Kyle McCleskey\u00a0<\/strong>(46.46), and Grimm (44.75) won the 4&#215;100 free relay in 3:08.34.<\/p>\n<h1>GIRLS MEET<\/h1>\n<h2>Top 5 Team Scores:<\/h2>\n<p>1. James Madison &#8211; 250<br \/>\n2. Yorktown &#8211; 198<br \/>\n3. Oakton &#8211; 166<br \/>\n4. Battlefield &#8211; 161<br \/>\n5. Robinson &#8211; 150<\/p>\n<p>Yorktown&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mary Kate Reicherter\u00a0<\/strong>(26.87),\u00a0<strong>Bridget Morris Larkin\u00a0<\/strong>(29.40), Huske (23.52), and\u00a0<strong>Natalie English\u00a0<\/strong>(23.69) began the girls&#8217; meet by winning the 4&#215;50 medley relay in 1:43.48. Yorktown&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Caroline Burgeson\u00a0<\/strong>(53.08), Huke (48.43),\u00a0<strong>Emily Larsen\u00a0<\/strong>(52.60), and\u00a0<strong>Grace Jansen\u00a0<\/strong>(52.93) concluded the meet by winning the 4&#215;100 free relay in 3:27.04.<\/p>\n<p>Spink<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>dominated the 200 free, winning by two full seconds in a final time of 1:46.18 to set a new Class 6 record. The freshman definitely made a name for herself this weekend, as she also went on to win the 100 free in a swift 49.18 as the only swimmer in the field to dip below the 50-second barrier; she was only 0.03 off the state record.<\/p>\n<p>Sheble, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/u-s-national-junior-teamer-world-juniors-finalist-grace-sheble-verbally-commits-to-nc-state-for-2021-22\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">who has sent her verbal to NC State<\/a>, handily won the 200 IM in 1:57.03 as the only swimmer under the two-minute marker. Her time set a new Class 6 and overall Virginia state record. Keating, a Virginia commit, dominated the 100 breast by winning in 59.76 as the only athlete under the 60-second mark for a class and state record of her own.<\/p>\n<p>Huske&#8217;s first individual gold medal of the night came in the 50 free, when she successfully defended her state tile after clocking in at a quick 21.83 as the only swimmer to crack the 22-second barrier. Her time eclipsed her own Class 6 and Virginia state record of 21.95 she set at this meet last year. Soon after, she was back in the water for her record-breaking performance in the 100 fly. Her time of 50.69 was a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/race-video-torri-huske-lowers-national-public-high-school-record-with-50-69-100-fly\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">new National Public HS record<\/a> and broke her own class and state record.<\/p>\n<p>Grosz<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>dove to first on the one-meter board, finishing with a final score of 447.95 for a new Class 6 record ahead of runner-up <strong>Miah Fisher\u00a0<\/strong>of Mount Vernon&#8217;s 437.90 points. James Madison&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alexandra Dicks\u00a0<\/strong>(22.91),\u00a0<strong>Morgan Howat\u00a0<\/strong>(24.54), Keating (24.14), and <strong>Elizabeth Kuhlkin\u00a0<\/strong>(23.52) won the 4&#215;50 free relay in 1:35.11.<\/p>\n<p>Stonewall Jackson&#8217;s <strong>Catherine Purnell\u00a0<\/strong>led the charge in the 500 free, stopping the clock in 4:52.31 as the first of only three swimmers in the race to crack the five-minute marker.
