The final night of the Ivy League women’s swimming and diving championships is underway. Princeton leads the team race, though by less than 100 points over Harvard. Tonights events include the timed final for the 1650 freestyle, finals of the 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, and the 400 freestyle relay (finals only).<\/p>\n

The Princeton Tigers grabbed the overall team title with a dominating team performance. Led by freshmen triple winners Nikki Venema and Ellie Marquardt, the Tigers won their 23rd overall team title.<\/p>\n

    Women’s 1650 Freestyle (Timed Final)<\/h4>\n

    Princeton’s Ellie Marquardt\u00a0<\/strong>capped off her first Ivy League Championships with her third win of the meet, completing the 500-1000-1650 sweep in 16:06.96.\u00a0Catherine Buroker<\/strong> (16:09.76) of Penn was just behind for second, with Yale’s\u00a0Ashley Loomis<\/strong> taking third (16:22.28).<\/p>\n

    Women’s 200 Backstroke<\/h4>\n

    Harvard’s\u00a0Felicia Pasadyn<\/strong> smashed the meet record, swimming a 1:52.56 to win by almost 2.5 seconds. Second place went to teammate\u00a0Samantha Shelton<\/strong> (1:54.91) and third was claimed by\u00a0Cate Sawkins\u00a0<\/strong>of Yale (1:56.94).<\/p>\n

    Mary Pruden\u00a0<\/strong>of Columbia raced to a B final win in 1:57.52. Brown freshman\u00a0Sage Matsushima<\/strong> took the C final with a 2:00.64.<\/p>\n

    Women’s 100 Freestyle<\/h4>\n

    Another Princeton freshman, Nikki Venema<\/strong>, completed a sweep of her own, grabbing the 100 free title in 48.55.\u00a0Taylor Seaman<\/strong> of Brown finished second in 48.85, edging out Yale’s\u00a0Isabella Henig<\/strong>‘s 48.90.<\/p>\n

    Cornell senior\u00a0Laurel Kiselis<\/strong> won the B final, with a time of 49.97, and Zoe Wortzman<\/strong>\u00a0of Dartmouth took the C final in 50.57.<\/p>\n

    Women’s 200 Breaststroke<\/h4>\n

    Harvard junior\u00a0Jaycee Yegher<\/strong> won her second race of the meet, taking the longer breaststroke race in a meet-record time of 2:08.47. Coming in over four seconds behind for second was\u00a0Janet Zhao<\/strong> of Princeton (2:12.67) followed by Yale’s\u00a0Cha O’Leary<\/strong> (2:13.45).<\/p>\n

    Taking the B final was\u00a0Ash Pales,\u00a0<\/strong>a senior from Yale (2:14.11), and\u00a0Emma Holmquist<\/strong> of Penn won the C final (2:17.82).<\/p>\n

    Women’s 200 Butterfly<\/h4>\n

    Miki Dahlke\u00a0<\/strong>of Harvard swam away with this race, winning in 1:55.11.\u00a0Christian Bradley<\/strong> (1:57.25) picked up second place for Princeton, and Mia Leko<\/strong> (1:58.70) grabbed third for Dartmouth.<\/p>\n

    Harvard’s Regan Barney\u00a0<\/strong>(1:59.14) won the B final. Dartmouth’s\u00a0Siera Daly<\/strong> swam a 2:01.39 to claim the C final.<\/p>\n

    Women’s 400 Freestyle Relay<\/h4>\n

    Harvard’s quartet of Pasadyn (49.27),\u00a0Kennedy Quist<\/strong> (48.61), Shelton (48.47), and Dahlke (48.13) combined for a 3:14.48, breaking the meet record. Princeton was not far behind with a 3:17.11, with Yale grabbing third in 3:19.48. Dartmouth was fourth, followed by Brown, Penn, Cornell, and Columbia.<\/p>\n
