The third night of the women’s swimming and diving championships brings exciting individual races and a big team battle. Harvard and Princeton are currently separated by two points at the halfway point in this meet. Tonight’s finals include the 1000 free, 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, 3m diving, and 400 medley relay finals.<\/p>\n

    Women’s 1000 Freestyle<\/h4>\n

    It was Princeton’s\u00a0Ellie Marquardt<\/strong> claiming yet another title. In this timed final event, Marquardt won in 9:34.71. Catherine Buroker<\/strong> of Penn took the runner-up spot, swimming a 9:39.60, whileHarvard sophomore Helena Moreno\u00a0<\/strong>Hernandez <\/strong>grabbed third in 9:47.07.<\/p>\n

    Women’s 400 Individual Medley<\/h4>\n

    Felicia Pasadyn<\/strong>, a freshman from Harvard, dominated the final to win the 400 IM in 4:08.47, being Princeton teammates\u00a0Addison Smith<\/strong> (4:14.28) and Regan Barney<\/strong> (4:14.53).<\/p>\n

    Harvard’s Mikki Thompson\u00a0<\/strong>took the win in the B final (4:19.42), and Alie Hunter<\/strong> of Dartmouth claimed the C final (4:25.40).<\/p>\n

    Women’s 100 Butterfly<\/h4>\n

    Harvard Senior\u00a0Miki Dahlke<\/strong> narrowly missed the meet record, claiming gold with a time of 51.88. Her efforts were enough to defeat Princeton’s Christina Bradley<\/strong> (52.75) and Brown’s Sage Matsushima<\/strong> (53.22).<\/p>\n

    Monkia Burzynska<\/strong> took the B final for Penn in 53.53, and Cornell’s Maegan Rudolph\u00a0<\/strong> captured the C final victory with a 54.63.<\/p>\n

    Women’s 200 Freestyle<\/h4>\n

    50 free champion\u00a0Nikki Venema<\/strong> of Princeton touched first in a close race with Harvard’s\u00a0Kennidy Quist<\/strong>, taking the win 1:45.31 to 1:45.48. Another Crimson swimmer,\u00a0sophomore\u00a0Samantha Shelton<\/strong>, grabbed third place (1:46.16).<\/p>\n

    Laurel Kiselis\u00a0<\/strong>of Cornell captured the B final in 1:48.02, with Princeton’s\u00a0Anna Durak<\/strong> taking the C final with a 1:49.10.<\/p>\n

    Women’s 100 Breaststroke<\/h4>\n

    While not matching her time from prelims, Harvard swimmer\u00a0Jaycee Yegher’s<\/strong> 59.76 was still enough to get the win over Helen Wojdylo<\/strong> of Columbia (1:00.33) and Princeton’s Christie Chong<\/strong> (1:00.98).<\/p>\n

    Ash Pales<\/strong>, a senior from Yale, got her hand on the wall first in the B final (1:02.63). Penn’s\u00a0Grace Estabrook<\/strong> finished fastest in the C final (1:03.57).<\/p>\n

    Women’s 100 Backstroke<\/h4>\n

    Addie Rose Bullock,\u00a0<\/strong>a freshman from Harvard, won a close race in the 100 back. Bullock touched in 53.55, edging\u00a0Taylor Seaman\u00a0<\/strong>(53.82) of Brown and fellow Crimson swimmer\u00a0Mei Lynn Colby<\/strong> (53.88).<\/p>\n

    Brown’s\u00a0Sage Matsushima\u00a0<\/strong>swam a 55.07 to grab first in the B final, with her teammate\u00a0Allyson Ty<\/strong> doing a 55.66 to take the C final.<\/p>\n

    Women’s 3m Diving<\/h4>\n

    Women’s 400 Medley Relay<\/h4>\n

    The combination of Pasadena (53.41), Yegher (58.70), Dahlke (52.00), and Quist (48.61) demolished the meet record by 1.5 seconds, winning with a time of 3:32.72. Princeton’s foursome was second in 3:37.80, followed by Yale in 3:40.34. Penn took fourth, followed by Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, and Cornell.<\/p>\n
