The second night of finals are set to begin in Providence at 6pm EST. The event lineup today is the 500 freestyle, 200 IM, 50 freestyle, 1m diving, and 200 freestyle relay (finals only). Princeton claimed all four top seeds in the prelims, with Ellie Marquardt<\/strong>, Christie Chong<\/strong>, Amelia Liu<\/strong>, and Sine Scribbick<\/strong> leading their respective fields heading into finals.<\/p>\n

    Women’s 500 Freestyle<\/h4>\n

    Princeton freshman Marquardt defended her top seed, even-splitting her way to her first career Ivy League title and meet record in 4:36.37. Harvard’s Miki Dahlke<\/strong> finished second (4:39.30) followed by Penn’s Catherine Buroker<\/strong> (4:45.58).<\/p>\n

    Olivia Jubin<\/strong> of Columbia took the B final (4:46.80), while Nathalie Eid<\/strong> of Yale claimed the C final in 4:53.08.<\/p>\n

    Women’s 200 Individual Medley<\/h4>\n

    For the second event in a row, a freshman swimmer claimed top honors in an event. This time, it was Harvard’s\u00a0Felicia Pasadyn\u00a0<\/strong>touching first in 1:55.88, followed by Chong of Princeton (1:57.89) and Helen Wojdyolo of Columbia (1:58.74).<\/p>\n

    Cate Sawkins<\/strong> of Yale won the B final in 2:02.02, and Janet Zhao<\/strong> took the C final in 2:02.82.<\/p>\n

    Women’s 50 Freestyle<\/h4>\n

    The Ivy League freshmen are on fire tonight! Nikki Venema<\/strong> of Princeton out-dueled her fellow freshman Tiger Liu to take the victory here 22.41 to 22.48. Brown’s Taylor Seaman<\/strong> was close behind in third (22.51).<\/p>\n

    Darlene Fung<\/strong>, a freshman from Harvard, claimed the B final in 22.88, and Summer Martin<\/strong> raced to victory in the C final (23.31).<\/p>\n

    Women’s 1m Diving<\/h4>\n

    In the first event today not won by a first-year student, Harvard sophomore Morgane Herculano<\/strong> captured gold on the 1m board, scoring 292.05 points to finish ahead of prelims leader Scribbick (289.75). Mimi Lin<\/strong> of Princeton followed with 275.90.<\/p>\n

    Harvard’s Esther Lawrence<\/strong> dominated the B final, scoring 271.70.<\/p>\n

    Women’s 200 Freestyle Relay<\/h4>\n

    Princeton closed out the finals’ session with a close win, defeating Harvard by .04 seconds. Venema (22.40), Sarah Grinalds<\/strong> (22.59), Liu (22.33), and Christina Bradley<\/strong> (22.44) combined for a 1:29.76 to narrowly miss the meet record. After Harvard, Dartmouth took third, followed by Brown, Yale, Cornell, Penn, and Columbia.<\/p>\n
