He won the 100 fly in 47.71 and the 100 back in 48.25 to lower both of his own records.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Tiffany&#8217;s standout meet, seven other Class 6A records were broken:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Corner Canyon girls &#8211; 4&#215;50 medley relay (1:50.32)<\/li>\n<li>Westlake&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cameron Barner\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211; 50 free (20.89)<\/li>\n<li>Corner Canyon&#8217;s <strong>Rivers Johnson <\/strong>&#8211; 100 fly (57.42)<\/li>\n<li>Corner Canyon&#8217;s <strong>Rivers Johnson <\/strong>100 back (56.79)<\/li>\n<li>American Fork&#8217;s <strong>Allie Hill\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211; 500 free (5:09.33)<\/li>\n<li>American Fork girls &#8211; 4&#215;50 free relay (1:42.55)<\/li>\n<li>American Fork girls &#8211; 4&#215;100 free relay (3:40.29)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>American Fork used their impressive depth to capture their third-straight championship crown with a total of 318.5 points ahead of Lone Peak&#8217;s score of 279.5. American Fork &#8211; 318.5<br \/>\n2. Lone Peak &#8211; 279.5<br \/>\n3. Corner Canyon &#8211; 221<br \/>\n4. West &#8211; 156<br \/>\n5. Riverton &#8211; 140<\/p>\n<p>Corner Canyon began the meet as <strong>Aliza Smith <\/strong>(27.14), <strong>Britta Catmull <\/strong>(32.86), Johnson<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>(25.06), and <strong>Eliza Balfe <\/strong>(25.26) won the opening 4\u00d750 medley relay in 1:50.32, two seconds ahead of runner-up Lone Peak\u2019s 1:52.15. Their time broke the previous Class 6A record of 1:51.60 set by Kearns in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Skyridge&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Katelyn Andrist\u00a0<\/strong>led the charge in the 200 free, stopping the clock in 1:58.97 as the first of only two swimmers in the field to crack the two-minute barrier. American Fork&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Talia Thomas\u00a0<\/strong>sprinted to first place in the 100 free, clocking in for a quick time of 54.90.<\/p>\n<p>Hill<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>dominated the 200 IM, leading from start to finish to post a final time of 2:11.02 en route to besting the field by over four seconds. The junior then went on to successfully defend her state title in the 500 free, turning in a final time of 5:09.33 to lower her own Class 6A mark of 5:16.81 set earlier this season.<\/p>\n<p>Westlake&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ryan Lincoln\u00a0<\/strong>splashed-and-dashed her way to the state title in the 50 free, clocking in at 25.11 to out-touch runner-up\u00a0<strong>Callie Anderson\u00a0<\/strong>(25.13) of Herriman. Riverton&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Skyler Lyon\u00a0<\/strong>got her hands to the wall first in the 100 breast, finishing in 1:07.44 for the win.<\/p>\n<p>After swimming the fly leg on her team&#8217;s winning medley relay, Johnson flew to the top of the podium to collect individual gold in the 100 fly with a time of 58.48 as the lone swimmer under the 60-second barrier. Her time of 57.42 in the morning crushed the old 6A record of 59.30 swum by\u00a0<strong>Summer Shreeve <\/strong>in 2018. She also won the 100 back in 56.79, taking down the old 6A mark of 57.66 she set back in January.<\/p>\n<p>American Fork&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Livvie Adamson\u00a0<\/strong>(26.05),\u00a0<strong>Paige Kelsey<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Annalyn Dean<\/strong>, and Thomas (25.22) combined in 1:42.55 during the 4&#215;50 free relay to eclipse their own Class 6A mark of 1:42.71 set in 2019. Dean (54.90), Kelsey (57.36), Thomas (54.60), and Hioll (53.43) clinched their team title by winning the 4&#215;100 free relay in 3:40.29 to break Lone Peak&#8217;s 2018 6A mark of 3:42.62.<\/p>\n<h1>Boys Meet<\/h1>\n<h2>Top 5 Team Scores:<\/h2>\n<p>1. Lone Peak &#8211; 277<br \/>\n2. Westlake &#8211; 204.5<br \/>\n3. American Fork &#8211; 170<br \/>\n4. Davis &#8211; 157.5<br \/>\n5. Pleasant Grove &#8211; 140<\/p>\n<p>Lone Peak began their winning ways as <strong>Rex Brunsdale<\/strong> (26.11), <strong>Josh Griener <\/strong>(26.50), <strong>Jordan Tiffany <\/strong>(21.40), and <strong>Kevin Dew <\/strong>(21.46) won the opening 4\u00d750 medley relay in 1:35.47 for a two-second victory over Westlake&#8217;s 1:37.09.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/vols-add-another-utah-state-record-holder-jordan-tiffany-sends-2020-verbal-to-tennessee\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tennessee-bound<\/a> Tiffany had himself a meet, first eclipsing his own overall Utah state record and Class 6A record of 47.74 in the 100 fly with a new time of 47.71. He then won the 100 back in 48.25, destroying his own state and Class 6A mark of 49.39 he had set back in January.<\/p>\n<p>West&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Rhys Winter\u00a0<\/strong>cruised to first in the 200 free, stopping the clock in 1:43.46 to win the event by 1.5 seconds. Not too long after that, he earned another gold medal after winning the 500 free &#8211; he dropped almost five seconds off his prelims time to claim the event in 4:39.28.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after helping his team to medley relay gold, Griener was back in the water to win the 200 IM in 1:57.16 as the first of only two swimmers in the event to crack the two-minute barrier. The senior also won the 100 breast, getting his hands to the wall in 58.91 as the first of three races to dip under 60 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Barney sprinted his way to the state title in the 50 free with a quick time of 20.97; his prelims time of 20.89 broke the previous Class 6A mark of 21.03 set by <strong>Greg Simpson\u00a0<\/strong>last season. Westlake\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Cameron Barney\u00a0<\/strong>sprinted to first in the 100 free, shaving time off his prelims swim to win the event in a swift 46.90.<\/p>\n<p>Westlake&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Matthew Shawgo\u00a0<\/strong>(23.21),\u00a0<strong>Nick Anderson\u00a0<\/strong>(22.59),\u00a0<strong>Ethan Brown\u00a0<\/strong>(22.31), and Barney (20.33) combined to win the 4&#215;50 free relay in 1:28.44.
