It was a tighter team race on the girls&#8217; side as Blessed Trinity came out victorious with a final score of 276.<\/p>\n<p>Click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2020-georgia-1-5a-state-championships\/high-school\/2020\/February\/6?rtn=%2Fresults%2Fhigh-school\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HERE<\/a> for full results and team scores.<\/p>\n<h1>BOYS MEET<\/h1>\n<h2>Top 3 Team Scores:<\/h2>\n<p>1. Marist &#8211; 370<br \/>\n2. Riverwood &#8211; 221<br \/>\n3. Starr&#8217;s Mill &#8211; 219<\/p>\n<p>The boy&#8217;s meet began as Starr&#8217;s Mill&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Seth Roach\u00a0<\/strong>(23.73),\u00a0<strong>Ben Phifer\u00a0<\/strong>(25.24),\u00a0<strong>Michael Tucker\u00a0<\/strong>(22.44), and\u00a0<strong>Samin Sayani\u00a0<\/strong>(22.93) won the opening 4\u00d750 medley relay in 1:35.94, 1.5 seconds ahead of runner-up Marist (1:35.86). Roach later won the 100 fly in 50.99.<\/p>\n<p>Oconee County&#8217;s <strong>Ryan Wylie<\/strong>, who has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/athens-bulldog-swim-clubs-ryan-wylie-stays-local-selects-georgia-for-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">verbally committed to Georgia<\/a>, cruised to first in the 200 free with a final time of 1:39.11 as the only swimmer in the field under the 1:40 barrier. The junior later won the 500 free in 4:31.37, nine seconds ahead of the field and nearly seven seconds faster than his prelims swim.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/harvard-scores-three-verbals-from-zach-bartel-quinn-harron-will-raidt-for-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Harvard commit<\/a> and Marist senior\u00a0<strong>Quinn Harron\u00a0<\/strong>dominated the 200 IM, winning by nearly five seconds in 1:48.59 as the only athlete in the race to crack the 1:50 marker. Shortly after, he was back in the pool to earn another gold medal after getting his hands to the wall first in the 100 breast with a time of 54.21.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Henry Nicols\u00a0<\/strong>of WWAc splashed-and-dashed his way to the top of the podium in the 50 free, just sneaking under the 21-second mark in a final time of 20.99 to edge out Riverwood&#8217;s <strong>Thomas Shannon\u00a0<\/strong>(21.06). Oconee County&#8217;s <strong>Allen Mann\u00a0<\/strong>dove to the top spot on the 1-meter board, posting an impressive final score of 641.15 to win the event by well over 100 points.<\/p>\n<p>North Springs&#8217; <strong>Arie Voloschin\u00a0<\/strong>sprinted his way to first place in the 100 free, shaving almost a half-second off his prelims time to earn the state title in a final time of 45.25. Druid Hills&#8217; <strong>Idris Muhammad\u00a0<\/strong>powered home to a win in the 100 back, touching the wall in 49.91 to win by two seconds as the only athlete under the 50-second mark.<\/p>\n<p>Oconee County&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Eli Searcy\u00a0<\/strong>(22.72),\u00a0<strong>Scott Seuser\u00a0<\/strong>(23.11),\u00a0<strong>Spencer Cohen\u00a0<\/strong>(22.62), and Wylie (20.94) won the 4&#215;50 free relay in 1:29.39, just edging out runner-up Marist (1:29.48). Starr&#8217;s Mill&#8217;s Tucker (46.83), Roach (46.70), Sayani (51.99), and Phifer (47.85) concluded the meet by winning the 4&#215;100 free relay in 3:13.37, just ahead of Marist (3:13.41).<\/p>\n<h1>GIRLS MEET<\/h1>\n<h2>Top 3 Team Scores:<\/h2>\n<p>1. Blessed Trinity &#8211; 276<br \/>\n2. Chamblee &#8211; 259<br \/>\n3. Marist &#8211; 254<\/p>\n<p>The girls&#8217; meet began as Chamblee&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kyla Maloney\u00a0<\/strong>(25.63),\u00a0<strong>Mary Adam\u00a0<\/strong>(31.06),\u00a0<strong>Evelyn Entrekin\u00a0<\/strong>(26.61), and\u00a0<strong>Sophie Bell\u00a0<\/strong>(25.07) won the opening 4&#215;50 medley relay in 1:48.37, just ahead of runner-up Marist (1:48.91). Maloney later went on to win the 100 back in 54.57.<\/p>\n<p>North Oconee\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Karen Zhao\u00a0<\/strong>powered home to the gold medal in the 200 free for the second-straight season, winning by nearly two seconds in 1:50.31. After taking second in the 100 free last year, Zhao then went on to claim her second gold medal of the day in the 100 free in a quick time of 50.93.<\/p>\n<p>Buford\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Caroline Irwin\u00a0<\/strong>successfully defended her state title in the 50 free, stopping the clock in a swift 23.79 as the only swimmer in the event to dip under the 24-second barrier. St. Pius X&#8217;s <strong>Julia Herring\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 60-point dominant win on the 1-meter board after finishing with a total score of 593.25.<\/p>\n<p>Oconee County sophomore <strong>Olivia DellaTorre\u00a0<\/strong>led the 200 IM from start to finish, clocking in a 2:04.04 for a five-second victory over runner-up\u00a0<strong>Hally Laney\u00a0<\/strong>(2:09.08) of Decatur. DellaTorre soon dove back in the pool to pick up another gold medal in the 100 fly, finishing in 54.06 ahead of silver medalist Irwin (55.95).<\/p>\n<p>Clarke Central&#8217;s <strong>Lucy Yeomans\u00a0<\/strong>cruised to first in the 500 free, knocking off five seconds from her prelims time to win in 5:00.66 &#8211; 10 seconds ahead of the field. Starr\u2019s Mill\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Lauren Presley\u00a0<\/strong>earned the 100 breast gold medal for the second-consecutive season, getting her hands to the wall first in 1:04.99.<\/p>\n<p>Oconee County&#8217;s<strong> Ella Freeman\u00a0<\/strong>(25.20),\u00a0<strong>Campbell Ball\u00a0<\/strong>(25.40),\u00a0<strong>Addie Hayes\u00a0<\/strong>(25.54), and Della Torre won the 4&#215;50 free relay in 1:39.86.
