In the 1m, senior <strong>Jacob Cornish<\/strong> took second with a score of 330.30.<\/li>\n<li>The Longhorns opened up the meet with a 200-medley relay win as <strong>Chris Staka<\/strong>, <strong>Caspar Corbeau<\/strong>, <strong>Alvin Jiang<\/strong>, and <strong>Peter Larson<\/strong> set a pool record with a time of 1:25.11.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jack Collins<\/strong> and <strong>Parker Neri<\/strong> went 1-2 in the 1000 free. Collins recorded a pool record 8:57.53, while Neri followed at 9.11.75.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Drew Kibler<\/strong> recorded a 1:33.15 pool record in the 200 free and took third in the 100 fly with a time of 47.45. Jiang won the 100 fly with a pool record time of 46.14, and <strong>Maxime Rooney<\/strong> followed with what also would have been a pool record at 46.57.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Alex Zettle<\/strong> won the 500 free with a pool record time of 4:18.35.<\/li>\n<li>In the 200 Free relay, Staka, Rooney, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/after-imperfect-summer-austin-katz-hungry-for-more-success\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Austin Katz<\/strong><\/a> and <strong>Daniel Krueger<\/strong> claim the new pool record with a time of 1:18.15.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The No. 10 Texas women&#8217;s swimming and diving program finished the 2019-20 regular season with a 159-132 win at SMU on Friday evening.<\/p>\n<p>Texas&#8217; meet was highlighted by a pool record by senior diver Alison Gibson in the 3m diving competition.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Longhorns saw <strong>Alison Gibson<\/strong> and <strong>Paola Pineda<\/strong> both eclipse the pool record mark in the 3m diving competition. Gibson won the event and claimed the record with a score of 343.88, while Pineda took second with a 329.03.<\/li>\n<li>In the 200 medley relay was claimed by <strong>Claire Adams<\/strong>, <strong>Evie Pfeifer<\/strong>, <strong>Kelly Pash<\/strong> and <strong>Bridget Semenuk<\/strong> by a time of 1:40.91.<\/li>\n<li>Pash added two individual wins, claiming the 100 back with a time of 53.90, and the 500 free with a time of 4:48.83.<\/li>\n<li>Pfeifer also added two individual wins. She won the 200 free with a time of 1:49.06, and the 100 breast with a time of 1:03.81.<\/li>\n<li>Semenuk won the 50 free with a time of 22.44.<\/li>\n<li>Adams claimed the 100 fly title with a time of 56.09.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Logan Shiller<\/strong> hit her fastest time of the season on the 1000 free, winning the race at 10:10.45.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>SMU Press Release<\/h3>\n<p>Three Mustangs picked up wins as the SMU women&#8217;s swimming and diving team fell, 159-132, to No. 10 Texas on Friday night at the Robson &amp; Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr-McMillion Natatorium.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Erin Trahan<\/strong> swept butterfly events, while <strong>Gabi Grobler<\/strong> won the 200-yard individual medley and <strong>Julia Yakushi<\/strong> picked up her first collegiate win in the 200-yard breaststroke to lead the Mustangs.<\/p>\n<p>Trahan won the 100 fly in a time of 54.16 and led an SMU duo in the top two of the 200, covering the distance in 2:00.49 for the win. <strong>Olivia Grossklaus<\/strong> clocked in at 2:00.88 for second.<\/p>\n<p>In the 200 IM, Grobler&#8217;s 2:04.08 was good for the win, while <strong>Janelle Gursoy<\/strong> came in third at 2:07.46. Grobler was also the runner-up in the 200 back (2:02.14), while <strong>Felicia Anderson<\/strong> was third in both backstroke events.<\/p>\n<p>Yakushi&#8217;s win in the 200 breast saw her stop the clock at 2:21.75 ahead of teammate <strong>Elise Johnson<\/strong>, who finished third at 2:24.61. The freshman was also the top finisher in the 100 distance for the Mustangs, coming in second with a time of 1:05.25. Johnson was third at 1:05.97.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Frederica Kizek<\/strong> posted a season-best time of 10:12.97 to place second in the 1,000-yard freestyle, and Grossklaus also posted a runner-up finish to lead the Mustangs in the 500 distance (4:59.42).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sam Smith<\/strong> finished third in both the 50 (23.93) and 100 (51.89) freestyles, and Gursoy (1:52.31) and Alex Stevens (1:52.69) finished second and third, respectively, in the 200 free.<\/p>\n<p>In relay action, Stevens, Trahan, Anderson and Smith closed the event with a second place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:34.51).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nicole Stambo<\/strong> led the Mustang divers at the event, placing fourth on both boards. Her 301.50 on 3 meter was a personal best.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the event, the Mustangs honored three seniors for their contributions to the program \u2013 Anderson, <strong>Lindsey Blanchard<\/strong> and Trahan.<\/p>\n<p>The SMU men&#8217;s swimming and diving team fell to No. 1 Texas, 194-101, on Friday evening at the Robson &amp; Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr-McMillion Natatorium.<\/p>\n<p>The Mustangs continue to excel in breaststroke action, sweeping the 200-yard event with <strong>Caleb Rhodenbaugh<\/strong> (1:57.92), <strong>Colin Feehery<\/strong> (1:58.09) and <strong>Connor Dalbo<\/strong> (1:59.24) finishing in order. Both Rhodenbaugh and Feehery&#8217;s times met the NCAA B standard, a first for Feehery in the event this season.<\/p>\n<p>All three Mustangs rank among SMU&#8217;s all-time top-10 performers in the event. Rhodenbaugh (1:55.60) is third, Feehery fifth, Dalbo (1:58.54) sixth and Brayden Rudd (1:58.71) joins at eighth.<\/p>\n<p>In diving action, <strong>Parker Hardigree<\/strong> led the Mustangs with a third place finish on 1 meter, registering a six-round 329.63. Action on 3 meter was highlighted by <strong>Dominic Hoefer&#8217;s<\/strong> first-career NCAA Zone score. The freshman posted a 327.30 in the event, making him the third Mustang, along with Hardigree and <strong>Peter Smithson<\/strong>, to qualify for the NCAA postseason.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ralph Koo<\/strong> posted a runner-up finish in the 50-yard freestyle (20.74), touching just ahead of teammate <strong>Charlie Kaye<\/strong> (20.82), and <strong>Daniel Forndal<\/strong> finished third in both the 100 (44.15) and 200 (1:37.79) freestyles.<\/p>\n<p>Other individual results of note included third place finishes from <strong>Petar Bozhilov<\/strong> (1,000 free, 9:20.22) and <strong>Cole Fleming<\/strong> (200 fly, 1:48.59). Both were season-best performances. Feehery was also third in the 200-yard individual medley (1:48.69).<\/p>\n<p>In the opening 200-yard medley relay, <strong>Riley Hill<\/strong>, Rhodenbaugh, Koo and Forndal finished second, covering the distance in 1:28.20.
