The Nittany Lions finished the meet with seven 1-2-3 sweeps and juniors <dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/gopsusports.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=10102\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"10102\">Gabe Castano<\/a><\/dfn> and <dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/gopsusports.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=10111\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"10111\">Hayden Harlow<\/a><\/dfn> combined for two event wins each.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Top Swims<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Senior captain <a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/gopsusports.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=10122\">Liam Veregin<\/a> secured a win for the Nittany Lions after placing first in the 100 back (48.48), and assisted in wins of both the 200 medley relay and 200 free relay. His co-captain, <a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/gopsusports.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=10123\">Austin Wilson<\/a>, also added to the final score with two second-place finishes in the 50 free (21.07) and 200 back (1:51.51). Wilson was also a member of the winning 200 free relay team who set a new pool record.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Castano and Harlow led the team with two wins each. Castano won both the 50 free &#8211; posting an NCAA B-Cut time of 19.64 &#8211; and the 100 free (44.05). Teammate Harlow clinched first with a career-best time in the 100 breast (54.74) and added a win in the 200 IM with a time of 1:47.88.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Both <dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/gopsusports.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=10124\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"10124\">Zac Zwijacz<\/a><\/dfn> and <dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/gopsusports.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=10126\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"10126\">Sam Rennard<\/a><\/dfn> posted two top-three finishes for the Nittany Lions. Zwijacz won the 200 free (1:42.20) and placed third in the 200 fly (1:56.87). Rennard secured first with a career-best time in the 1000 free (9:28.34) and finished third in the 500 free with a time of 4:41.74.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Nittany Lion Relays<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">To start out the meet, Penn State swept the 200 medley relay with the team of <dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/gopsusports.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=10120\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"10120\">William Roberson<\/a><\/dfn>, <dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/gopsusports.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=10113\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"10113\">Brad Johnson<\/a><\/dfn>, Veregin, and Castano clinching first with a new pool record time of 1:27.90.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Although the Nittany Lions swam the 200 free relay as an exhibition, they posted the top three times, and the winning team of Castano, Veregin, Roberson, and Wilson set a pool record with a final time of 1:19.72.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Top Dives<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Nittany Lions swept the 1-meter where freshman <dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/gopsusports.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=10128\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"10128\">Kevin Sullivan<\/a><\/dfn> and junior <dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/gopsusports.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=10112\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"10112\">Bryce Hoch<\/a><\/dfn> both finished with career-bests and NCAA Zone qualifying scores. Amdor also won the 100 free with a time of 51.34.<\/p>\n<p><dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/gopsusports.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=10242\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"10242\">Camryn Barry<\/a><\/dfn> also finished first in the 500 free with a time of 4:57.86.<\/p>\n<p>Schobel and senior <dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/gopsusports.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=10251\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"10251\">Maddie Hart<\/a><\/dfn> earned a first and second sweep in both the 100 and 200 back. Schobel won the 100 back with a B-Cut time of 53.73, and <dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/gopsusports.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=10251\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"10251\">Maddie Hart<\/a><\/dfn> came in second (55.13). In the 200 back, Schobel swam a winning time of 1:58.63, with Hart following her in second (2:00.37).<\/p>\n<p>Matthias swam for two wins during the meet, winning the 200 fly with a time of 2:03.17 and the 100 fly at 56.00.<\/p>\n<p><dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/gopsusports.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=10244\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"10244\">Maddie Cooke<\/a><\/dfn> swam her second-fastest career time in the 50 free, winning the race with a time of 22.64. She also placed second in the 100 fly (56.08).<\/p>\n<p>In another 1-2 finish, <dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/gopsusports.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=10250\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"10250\">Carly Hart<\/a><\/dfn> touched first in the 100 breast (1:02.11) and <dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/gopsusports.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=10252\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"10252\">Olivia Jack<\/a><\/dfn>placed second (1:03.38).<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, sophomore <dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/gopsusports.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=10257\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"10257\">Madison Murtagh<\/a><\/dfn> placed second in the 1000 free with a time of 10:20.68 for her fourth top-three finish in the event this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Top Dives<\/strong><br \/>\nOn the boards, the Nittany Lion women swept the top-three spots in the 3-meter and earned first and second in the 1-meter. Crowell won the 1-meter (282.15) by a margin of 24 points and the 3-meter (276.45) dive by a margin of eight. <dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/gopsusports.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=10301\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"10301\">Sierra Shurts<\/a><\/dfn> finished the meet with two second-place scores: 268.80 in the 3-meter and 258.15 in the 1-meter, and <dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/gopsusports.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=10286\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"10286\">Wei Wei<\/a><\/dfn> closed out the sweep with a third-place finish in the 3-meter 262.05.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nittany Lion Relays<\/strong><br \/>\nTo open Senior Day, the women took first and second in the 200 medley relay. The winning team of Schobel, <dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/gopsusports.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=10250\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"10250\">Carly Hart<\/a><\/dfn>, <dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/gopsusports.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=10251\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"10251\">Maddie Hart<\/a><\/dfn> and Cooke had a time of 1:38.19, only a second behind an NCAA B-Cut time for the event. The second-place 200 medley team of Matthias, Jack, <dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/gopsusports.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=10253\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"10253\">Madison Ledwith<\/a><\/dfn> and <dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/gopsusports.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=10248\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"10248\">Elizabeth Gaspari<\/a><\/dfn> trailed behind at 1:44.37.<\/p>\n<p>The final event of the meet was the 400 free relay, and the women swam for another relay win. In what was the fourth meet in a seven day stretch, the Wildcats were bested on the road. The women fell 167.5-93.5, while the men dropped the contest 180-79.<\/p>\n<p>On the women&#8217;s side, Villanova had three first-place finishes thanks to <dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/villanova.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=8952\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"8952\">Nicole Welch<\/a><\/dfn> (1,000 freestyle), <dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/villanova.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=8989\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"8989\">Kaitlin Gravell<\/a><\/dfn> (200 breaststroke) and <dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/villanova.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=8939\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"8939\">Kelly Montesi<\/a><\/dfn> (200 IM). However, that was not the end of their days.<\/p>\n<p>Montesi also placed second in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:05.81, and third in the 100 butterfly in 56.62. Welch took second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:02.08, while Gravell took third in the 100 breaststroke, going 1:07.49.<\/p>\n<p><dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/villanova.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=8946\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"8946\">Milly Routledge<\/a><\/dfn> had two second-place finishes, the first in the 50 free (23.90) and the second in the 100 free (51.50). The junior also took third in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:51.67. <dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/villanova.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=8931\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"8931\">Rayann Jaryszak<\/a><\/dfn> took second in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:28.55. Villanova placed second in the 200-freestyle relay and third in the 200-medley relay.<\/p>\n<p><dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/villanova.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=8953\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"8953\">Grace Wielar<\/a><\/dfn> had a pair of third-place finishes on the day. She swam 58.13 in the 100 backstroke and 2:05.24 in the 200 backstroke. <dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/villanova.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=8944\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"8944\">Emily Provenzo<\/a><\/dfn> took third in the 1,000 free with a time of 10:24.91, while <dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/villanova.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=11377\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"11377\">Perri Stahl<\/a><\/dfn> went 24.02 to place third in the 50 freestyle<\/p>\n<p>The men also had three first-place finishes on the day. One such finish came in the 200-freestyle relay, an event that the Wildcats swept. Villanova also swept the 200 IM, thanks to <dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/villanova.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=8926\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"8926\">Jordan Fetterman<\/a><\/dfn>, <dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/villanova.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=8943\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"8943\">Francis Prikasky<\/a><\/dfn> and <dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/villanova.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=8934\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"8934\">Alex Klippel<\/a><\/dfn>.<\/p>\n<p><dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/villanova.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=8920\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"8920\">Justin Cucchi<\/a><\/dfn> touched the wall first in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:49.40.
