Last short course season, he raced four events at NCSAs and earned two best times. A current junior at Maple Grove Senior High School, he raced the 200\/500 free combo at Minnesota 2A State Championships during his freshman season.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding his commitment, he said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>&#8220;I chose Minnesota because of the amazing coaching staff, academics, team environment, and tradition of success. Thank you to all the friends, family, and coaches who helped me along the way. At Juniors East last month, he earned 100% best times and placed 13th in the 200 breast after finishing fifth in both the 200m breast and 200m IM at Greensboro Futures last summer. Also competing for Barron Collier High School, Garner earned silvers in the 100 breast and 100 free as a junior while placing third and sixth, respectively, in those events as a sophomore.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding his commitment, he said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>&#8220;I am proud to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Minnesota to continue my academic and swimming careers.
