Japan’s\u00a0Daiya Seto\u00a0<\/strong>blasted a 1:52 in the 200 butterfly at the FINA Champions Series in China as he continued to prove that he seems to be peaking at the right time<\/a> 176 days ahead of a home Olympic Games in Tokyo.<\/p>\n

Regan Smith<\/strong> improved her in-season best in the 100 backstroke at the TYR Pro Swim Series in Knoxville with a 58.2 as she showed that she has taken no steps back from her incredible 2019 summer where she became the first woman to break 58 in the 100 back long course meters. That swim earned her the ZUMO Performance of the Week<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kaylee McKeown\u00a0<\/strong>of Australia put up a 2:05.8 in the 200 backstroke at the South Australian State Championships in Adelaide nearly 10 hours after Smith swam a 2:05.9 in the same event in Knoxville. McKeown and Smith have traded the world junior record in year’s past in the backstroke events and they are both hitting their strides months before their respective Olympic Trials.<\/p>\n

Reigning 100 free Olympic champ\u00a0Kyle Chalmers\u00a0<\/strong>also put up an impressive in-season swim in the 100 free at the same meet in Adelaide. He swam a 47.9 in the 100 free as he is one of the favorites to repeat in the 100 free this summer in a heavily-anticipated matchup with American Caeleb Dressel\u00a0<\/strong>after their duel in World Championships this summer<\/a>.<\/p>\n
