This past summer, she was the 100m free runner-up at Santa Clarita Sectionals before going on to race three events at Junior Nationals.<\/p>\n<p>A current junior at Soquel High School, Mazurek is already a three-time CIF State Championship finalist. The NISCA and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American placed fifth in the 100 free and 12th in the 200 free as a sophomore after racing to ninth in the 100 free during her freshman season.<\/p>\n<p>She told\u00a0<em>Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>&#8220;I\u2019m excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at UC Berkeley!!! I would like to thank coach Lucas Salles-Cunha for helping me get to where I am today and coaches Teri and Dani for believing in me. I would also like to thank all of my teammates, friends, and family who have supported me throughout this recruiting process and my whole life. I can\u2019t wait to see where this journey takes me. Go Bears!&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Her best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 free &#8211; 23.16<\/li>\n<li>100 free &#8211; 49.60<\/li>\n<li>200 free &#8211; 1:48.04<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A dual citizen, Mazurek participated in the 2019 Canadian World Swimming Trials and was selected to Team Canada&#8217;s National ID Team last year.
