NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Florida has scored a new in-state verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Olympic Trials qualifier Mason Laur\u00a0<\/strong>of Naples, Fla.<\/p>\n

He’ll join\u00a0Oskar Lindholm<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>in Gainesville as a member of the Gators’ class of 2025.<\/p>\n

Primarily a butterflyer and IMer, Laur swims year-round with T2 Aquatics and recently placed 10th in the 200 fly at Juniors East last month. He won the 200m fly at Junior Nationals with a time of 1:59.25 this past summer to achieve the 2020 Olympic Trials cut and had five top-5 finishes at the Florida Spring Championships last March.<\/p>\n

A current junior at Barron Collier High School, Laur is a six-time Florida 3A State Championship finalist. He won the 200 IM and was the 100 fly runner-up in 2019 after placing third and fourth in 2018 as well as 13th and 11th, respectively, in those events as a freshman. He has also earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors twice thus far in his career.<\/p>\n
