NEW COMMIT: <\/b>Stephen Gilbert<\/strong>, a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American and senior at Patriot High School in Virginia, has verbally committed to Milligan College. Gilbert specializes in backstroke and IM events, but offers a versatility that will bolster a program showing steady improvement under head coach Spencer Scarth in his first year with the team.<\/p>\n

He told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

I chose Milligan because the team is really close, they work hard and have a lot of fun, and it feels most like a home. I\u2019m confident that Milligan will help me achieve great things in the pool, in my career, and in life. I can\u2019t wait to join the Milligan family.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Gilbert swims with Occoquan Swimming and his current times would have placed him in the A finals for several events at last year\u2019s NAIA National Championships. With times ranking in the top 10 among NAIA swimmers this season, he figures to make an immediate impact next year as a Milligan Buffalo.<\/p>\n
