The team, which consisted of only 9 out of a possible 20 scorers, outscored the cougars by 53 points to take the meet held at Gibb Pool.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Team Scores:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>USC 155, Washington State 102<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/sidearm.sites\/wsu.sidearmsports.com\/documents\/2020\/1\/10\/1_10_20_USC_at_WSU_COMBINED.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RESULTS<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>USC Women&#8217;s Swimming and Diving Press Release<\/h3>\n<p>Freshman <strong>Nicole Pavlopoulou<\/strong> took the 1000y free (10:33.73) to start the evening with an individual win for the Trojans. She later followed it up with a win in the 500y free (5:06.85.) Fellow freshman <strong>Aela Janvier<\/strong> picked up two individual wins of her own, dominating both the 100y (56.20) and 200y (2:01.10) backstroke.<\/p>\n<p>Sophomore <strong>Isa Odgers<\/strong> won the 100y breast (1:02.61) and the 400y IM (4:25.16). She also took the 200y breast (2:13.04) setting a Gibb Pool record and picking up her third individual win of the evening. Senior <strong>Louise Hansson<\/strong> also set a Gibb Pool record of her own in the 100y fly, posting a 53.98.<\/p>\n<p>Other wins came from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/marta-ciesla-embraces-fun-of-relays-poised-to-represent-poland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Marta Ciesla<\/strong><\/a> who took both the 50y (23.64) and 100y free (50.21). <strong>Jemma Schlicht<\/strong> rounded out the 1-2 finish in both sprint free events with a 23.84 in the 50y free and 56.48 in the 100y free.<\/p>\n<p>The Trojan women&#8217;s squad won both relays, taking the 200y free relay (<strong>Aela Janvier<\/strong>, <strong>Maggie Aroesty<\/strong>, <strong>Louise Hansson<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/usctrojans.com\/sports\/womens-swimming-and-diving\/roster\/marta-ciesla\/10725\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Marta Ciesla<\/strong> <\/a>\u2013 1:42.68) and 200y Medley relay (Ciesla, Hansson, <strong>Hanni Leach<\/strong>, Pavlopoulou \u2013 1:35.14) to round out the evening.<\/p>\n<h3>Washington State Press Release<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Washington State women\u2019s swimming competed against eighth-ranked USC, dropping a 155-102 decision at Gibb Pool Friday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sophomore <strong>Keiana Fountaine<\/strong> led the way for the Cougars with an impressive win the 200 freestyle, finishing over three seconds ahead of USC\u2019s second-place finisher for her third individual win this season. Fountaine also finished three-tenths of a second behind USC in the 100 freestyle.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Junior <strong>Samantha Howell<\/strong> notched a season-best in the 1,000 freestyle, finishing in second place while <strong>Kate Laderoute<\/strong> finished second in the 100 backstroke, <strong>Mackenzie Duarte<\/strong> touched the wall second in the 100 and 200 breast, <strong>Mia Zahab<\/strong> was second in the 200 butterfly, <strong>Taylor McCoy<\/strong> was second in the 200 back, <strong>Michee Van Rooyen<\/strong> was five-tenths of second behind the Trojans in the 500 free for a second place finish.
