NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Two-time Junior National qualifier\u00a0Max Myers\u00a0<\/strong>of Edmond, Okla. has verbally committed to the University of Notre Dame and will join Owen Grimaldi <\/strong><\/a>with the Fighting Irish in the fall of 2021.<\/p>\n

Myers swims year-round with American Energy Swim Club and most recently earned two best times at Juniors West last month and recorded two top-12 finishes at Columbia Sectionals last short course season. This past summer, he earned a trio of lifetime bests at Jenks Sectionals before going on to take fourth in the 50m free at Oklahoma LCM Seniors. A current junior at Edmond Memorial High School, the USA Swimming Scholastic All-American was the 100 free runner-up and earned bronze in the 50 free as a sophomore at the Oklahoma 6A State Championships.<\/p>\n

Regarding his commitment, he said:<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim at the University of Notre Dame. The coaching staff and team members have been great throughout the process.\u00a0 I\u2019d like to thank my coaches, especially Coach VanSlooten of AESC, my teammates, and my family for their support.
