The No. 12 Louisville men beat the Wildcats 179.5-120.5.<\/p>\n<p>In the women&#8217;s meet, Louisville swimming\u2019s <strong>Molly Fears<\/strong> won 3-meter diving (300.68) and 1-meter (279.98). <strong>Arina<\/strong> <strong>Openysheva<\/strong> won the 200 free (1:49.21) and 100 free (50.46). <strong>Casey Fanz<\/strong> won the 50 free (23.00). <strong>Maria<\/strong> <strong>Eduarda Sumida<\/strong> won the 500 free (4:54.91). <strong>Christiana Regenauer<\/strong> won the 100 fly (54.13).<\/p>\n<p>In the men\u2019s meet, Louisville swimming\u2019s <strong>Daniel Pinto<\/strong> won 1-meter diving (330.90) and 3-meter (368.48). <strong>Mitchell<\/strong> <strong>Whyte<\/strong> won the 100 back (48.31). <strong>Evgenii Somov<\/strong> won the 100 breast (54.29). <strong>Mihalis Deliyiannis<\/strong> won the 50 free (20.33). <strong>Andrej Barna<\/strong> won the 100 free (43.79). <strong>Nicholas Albiero<\/strong> won the 200 back (1:44.27). <strong>Ilia Sibirtsev<\/strong> won the 500 free (4:28.48). Jarrett Jones won the 400 IM (3:56.15).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/acc-swimming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MORE ACC COVERAGE<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>From Northwestern&#8217;s perspective<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Wildcats started the meet strong with the women&#8217;s team of junior <strong>Calypso Sheridan<\/strong>, sophomore <strong>Miriam Guevara<\/strong><dfn><\/dfn>, first-year <strong>Hannah Brunzell<\/strong><dfn><\/dfn> and junior <strong>Sophie Angus<\/strong> winning the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:40.33. The men&#8217;s team of sophomore <strong>Manuel Martos Bacarizo<\/strong>, first-years <strong>Kevin Houseman<\/strong> <dfn><\/dfn> and <strong>Federico Burdisso<\/strong><dfn><\/dfn> and sophomore <strong>Andrew Zhang<\/strong> <dfn><\/dfn> took third in a seasons best time of 1:28.96.<\/p>\n<p>NU continued to shine, sweeping the 1000 free with juniors <strong>Ilekta Lebl<\/strong> and <strong>DJ Hwang<\/strong><dfn><\/dfn> each bringing home nine points for their respective teams.<\/p>\n<p>First-year <strong>Aleksa Bobar<\/strong> earned his first collegiate win in the 200 free, out-touching his competition by over a second in a time of 1:37.52. Sheridan led a Northwestern&#8217;s 1-2-3 sweep of the 100 back, followed by senior <strong>Nicole Aarts<\/strong> and first-year <strong>Emma Lepisova<\/strong><dfn><\/dfn>. Those three &#8216;Cats continued to sweep, with Lepisova leading the charge followed closely by Sheridan and Aarts to score 16 Wildcat points in the women&#8217;s 200 back.<\/p>\n<p>Big Ten Freshman of the week, Brunzell secured the win for the &#8216;Cats in both the 100 breast and 200 breast in a time of 1:01.05 and 2:13.28 respectively, to earn her fourth NCAA &#8216;B&#8217; cut of the season. First-year <strong>Marcus<\/strong> <strong>Mok<\/strong> <dfn><\/dfn>won the 200 breast for the men, beating his competition to the wall in a time of 1:59.45.<\/p>\n<p>The duo Guevara and Burdisso swept the 200 fly for the second consecutive meet for the &#8216;Cats, with Guevara finishing in 1:59.69 and Burdisso earning an NCAA &#8216;B&#8217; cut in a time of 1:44.64. Burdisso continued his dominance, winning the men&#8217;s 100 fly in a time of 47.01 to secure his second NCAA &#8216;B&#8217; cut of the night.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nusports.com\/sports\/womens-swimming-and-diving\/roster\/calypso-sheridan\/8481\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sheridan<\/a> earned the &#8216;Cats final win of the night, leading the 1-3-4 finish in a time of 4:19.85, followed by Larson and Lebl.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The No. 12 Louisville swimming and diving team hung on to defeat No. 25 Northwestern 151-149 on Thursday in the women&#8217;s showdown.
