The 2019 Speedo Winter Juniors East Championships started on Wednesday night in Atlanta with just the timed finals of the 200 medley and 800 free relays. Carmel Swim Club boys won both relays while the Dynamo Swim Club girls and Swim MAC Carolina won the 200 medley and 800 free relays respectively.<\/p>\n

Women’s 200 Medley Relay<\/h3>\n
Dynamo Swim Club got the 2019 Speedo Junior Nationals East started off with a 1:39.51 to win the 200 medley relay with the team of\u00a0Rye Ulett\u00a0<\/strong>(25.24),\u00a0Alicia Henry\u00a0<\/strong>(27.45),\u00a0Tristen Ulett\u00a0<\/strong>(24.05) and\u00a0Peyton Curry\u00a0<\/strong>(22.77). Henry was the big difference maker as she was the only breaststroker to split under 28 seconds among teams in the top eight. The Ulett sisters were also big for the team as Rye had the sixth fastest backstroke lead-off and Tristen had the third fastest butterfly split.<\/p>\n
Cardinal Aquatics came in second (1:40.17) ahead of Swim MAC Carolina for third (1:40.60).<\/p>\n
The quickest splits outside of Dynamo came from Baylor’s\u00a0Ellie Waldrep\u00a0<\/strong>(24.79), Somerset Valley’s\u00a0Victoria Eisenhauer\u00a0<\/strong>(27.88), Cardinal’s\u00a0Gabi Albiero\u00a0<\/strong>(23.57) and Swim MAC’s\u00a0Elizabeth Sowards\u00a0<\/strong>(22.57).<\/p>\n

Carmel actually swam in heat one away from the top seeded heat but it didn’t matter as Davis had the fastest backstroke split, giving them some momentum to open.<\/p>\nSwim MAC Carolina (1:29.70) came in second ahead of Spartan Aquatic Club (1:30.00). Merritt\u00a0<\/strong>(1:46.87) won over Dynamo (7:14.20) as those teams were first and third in the medley relay earlier.<\/p>\nClub Wolverine (7:16.37) finished in third place.<\/p>\nThe quickest splits outside of Swim MAC came from Blue Dolfins’\u00a0Micayla Cronk\u00a0<\/strong>(1:44.27), Club Wolverine’s\u00a0Kaylee Williams\u00a0<\/strong>(1:46.65) Dynamo’s Tristen Mitchell\u00a0<\/strong>(1:34.05). They erased the 6:23.97 set by Mason Manta Rays last year. As of this point in the season, Carmel Swim Club has the tenth fastest time in Division I in this event.
