MacLeane, who was making his first start of the season for the Tigers, registered 11 saves. Serbian Pacific Freshmen, <strong>Djorde Stanic<\/strong> scored 4 times and delivered 3 assists. Special teams were pivotal as the Tigers piled up 5 power play goals together with 4 penalty goals in the game. Pacific answered with a dominant 2nd quarter by scoring 5 times and riding 6 saves by MacLeane to hold the Waves to only 1 score. After halftime, Pacific continued their offensive dominance by ringing up another 5 in the third quarter while holding their opponents to 3. With a 13-8 margin going to the 4th period, the Tigers held on for a comfortable semifinal victory.<\/p>\n<p>Tiger Head Coach <strong>James Graham<\/strong>, has his team in the final for the first time since 2013. \u201c We came into this season wanting to get to this moment, we can\u2019t wait for tomorrow.\u201d Star Luke Pavillard relishes the matchup with the top seeded Cardinal: \u201cLove playing Stanford\u2026they\u2019re an amazing team, it\u2019s going to be a tough game but all championships are, look forward to it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>MacLeane overcame health issues to be ready to play and Graham praised him. \u201cHe\u2019s a gamer, he fired us up, and gave us energy\u201d. The Tigers bounced back from a disappointing GCC tournament which in Graham\u2019s words was \u201ca near death experience\u201d by having their \u201cbest 2 weeks of training this year\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The Tigers can score and Graham sees the championship coming down to a defensive challenge. \u201cWe\u2019re an offensive juggernaut, the best in school history. He attended UCLA as a two-sport student-athlete playing Water Polo and Junior varsity basketball for the Bruins. His postgraduate water polo playing career spanned nearly a decade and included US national club level competition while representing the Westwood, Industry Hills, and Sunset Clubs. Cohn gained international experience as a player-coach in Australia and represented the USA in the 1985 Maccabiah Games where his team won a silver medal. He was an Assistant Men's Water Polo Coach at Palomar College in San Diego. Additionally, Cohn was a college-rated water polo official from 1986 to 1992. Most recently, Bill served 5 seasons as the Assistant Coach for the San Diego State University Women's Water Polo team from 2014 through 2019. Cohn has announced College Water Polo and Swimming since 1990. He currently serves as the voice of the UC San Diego Tritons in Water Polo, Swimming, Basketball and Volleyball. He has also worked in play-by-play and analyst roles for men's and women's NCAA Water polo championship webcasts since 2010. He attended UCLA as a two-sport student-athlete playing Water Polo and Junior varsity basketball for the Bruins. His postgraduate water polo playing career spanned nearly a decade and included US national club level competition while representing the Westwood, Industry Hills, and Sunset Clubs. Cohn gained international experience as a player-coach in Australia and represented the USA in the 1985 Maccabiah Games where his team won a silver medal. He was an Assistant Men's Water Polo Coach at Palomar College in San Diego. Additionally, Cohn was a college-rated water polo official from 1986 to 1992. Most recently, Bill served 5 seasons as the Assistant Coach for the San Diego State University Women's Water Polo team from 2014 through 2019. Cohn has announced College Water Polo and Swimming since 1990. He currently serves as the voice of the UC San Diego Tritons in Water Polo, Swimming, Basketball and Volleyball. He has also worked in play-by-play and analyst roles for men's and women's NCAA Water polo championship webcasts since 2010.
