{"id":405033,"date":"2019-12-05T11:00:03","date_gmt":"2019-12-05T18:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=405033"},"modified":"2019-12-04T16:31:13","modified_gmt":"2019-12-04T23:31:13","slug":"natare-provides-new-headwall-for-brantford-ontario-aquatic-centre-for-fina-compliancy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/natare-provides-new-headwall-for-brantford-ontario-aquatic-centre-for-fina-compliancy\/","title":{"rendered":"Natare Provides New Headwall for Brantford, Ontario Aquatic Centre for FINA Compliancy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>INDIANAPOLIS, IN <\/strong>\u2013 Natare Corporation, along with their Canadian partner, Austin Carroll Pool Construction Ltd., recently provided a stainless steel headwall to assist the multi-faceted Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre with FINA compliancy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fina.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FINA<\/a> (F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Internationale de Natation \/ International Swimming Federation) is the governing organization of all aquatics. It sets the rules and regulations for aquatic facilities to meet in order to hold international competitive swim meets.<\/p>\n<p>The 45 year old, 8-lane, 65 metre pool did not have an end wall configuration that met the FINA requirement for a 0.3m. rise about water level, which did not allow the use of swim timing touchpads. The solution was a stainless steel headwall to modify the existing end wall to comply with the FINA requirements.<\/p>\n<p>The headwall is 68\u2019 long, 3\u2019-3\/8\u201d wide, and 11-13\/16\u201d tall. It is constructed from 316L stainless steel and GPM polymer grating. It consists of a handhold, target markings, transition markers, and two (2) facility logos. It was then assembled on-site and anchored to the existing pool end wall by technicians from Austin Carroll. Installation time was only eight (8) hours.<\/p>\n<p>The facility\u2019s manager of program and services, <strong>Karen Winter<\/strong>, was extremely happy with not only the process, but the finished product as well. \u201cFrom start to finish the installation of the new headwall and starting blocks at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre was great. Austin Carroll Pools was easy to work with, quick on communication, and completed the project efficiently and accurately.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The investment that was made in the new headwall will benefit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.waynegretzkysportscentre.ca\/en\/index.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre<\/a> for years to come. The centre currently holds local and provincial swim meets, but are now eligible to be certified for FINA sanctioned events, including international competition.
