Last winter, he notched five lifetime bests at the Husky Invitational where he finished seventh in the 500 free and eighth in the 200 free.<\/p>\n<p>A current junior at Thousand Oaks High School, Grimaldi is a three-time CIF Souther DII Section Championship finalist. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American earned silver in the 200 free and took fourth in the 500 free during his sophomore season while placing 18th in the latter as a freshman.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding his commitment, he said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>&#8220;I am very excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Notre Dame! The school and family at Notre Dame are amazing and exactly what I want out of a campus and team, and I could not be more happy to be furthering my academic and athletic career there. I want to thank my family and coaches for allowing me to get to where I am today. Go Irish!\u2618\ufe0f&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>His best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 free &#8211; 22.12<\/li>\n<li>100 free &#8211; 46.92<\/li>\n<li>200 free &#8211; 1:38.64<\/li>\n<li>500 free &#8211; 4:30.51<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Grimaldi has made significant improvements recently and will arrive at Notre Dame following the graduation of standout <strong>Zach Yeadon<\/strong>.
