Nelson is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/beata-nelson-shocks-ella-eastin-in-200-im-final-narrowly-misses-american-record\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">defending NCAA champion in the 200 IM<\/a> and second fastest all-time, but it doesn&#8217;t appear to be a cake walk this year for Nelson, who will have to deal with Virginia freshman <strong>Kate Douglass\u00a0<\/strong>(1:52.84 at Tennessee Invite) this season. Nelson was a 1:50 las season but a 1:52 is not messing around.<\/p>\n<p>Nelson also led off Wisconsin&#8217;s 400 medley relay team with a 50.36 which is easily the fastest 100 back this season. She was a 49.1 last season which stands as the American record. Beata Nelson was also not the only Wisconsin 200 IM winner as freshman\u00a0<strong>Wes Jekel\u00a0<\/strong>won the men&#8217;s race with a 1:46.81.<\/p>\n<p>Nelson was the only individual A cut achieved on Thursday night as the NC State women won the 400 medley relay with an A Cut time of 3:31.40. The team of\u00a0<strong>Katharine Berkoff\u00a0<\/strong>(51.85),\u00a0<strong>Sophie Hansson\u00a0<\/strong>(58.38),\u00a0<strong>Sirena Rowe\u00a0<\/strong>(53.56) and\u00a0<strong>Kylee Alons\u00a0<\/strong>(47.61) won over Arizona State (3:33.88) and Wisconsin (3:34.44). The Wolfpack also won the men&#8217;s relay with\u00a0<strong>Coleman Stewart\u00a0<\/strong>(44.82),\u00a0<strong>Rafal Kusto\u00a0<\/strong>(53.44),\u00a0<strong>Noah Hensley\u00a0<\/strong>(45.89) and\u00a0<strong>Nyls Korstanje\u00a0<\/strong>(42.28) posting a 3:06.43 for the top time in the nation just ahead of Missouri (3:06.48) from last night.<\/p>\n<p>The Arizona State men in won the 200 free relay with a 1:17.67 as the team of <strong>Carter Swift\u00a0<\/strong>(19.86),\u00a0<strong>Evan Carlson\u00a0<\/strong>(19.13),\u00a0<strong>Jack Dolan\u00a0<\/strong>(19.23) and\u00a0<strong>Ethan Luc\u00a0<\/strong>(19.45) put up the second fastest time in the country. Fellow Sun Devil\u00a0<strong>Cierra Runge\u00a0<\/strong>won the 500 free with a 4:37.26 as she moved up to sixth in the country in that event.<\/p>\n<p>The NC State men also got a pair of wins from\u00a0<strong>Eric Knowles\u00a0<\/strong>in the 500 (4:16.36) and\u00a0<strong>Nyls Korstanje\u00a0<\/strong>in the 50 free (19.11). Korstanje sits second in the NCAA.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/goduke.com\/documents\/2019\/11\/21\/th_finals_results.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Full results for download are
