It is by far the fastest time in the NCAA so far this season \u2014 and the time would have finished fourth at last year&#8217;s NCAA championships.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/EvqHohnZaHo\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">On the women&#8217;s side, USC started the Texas A&amp;M Art Adamson Invitational in emphatic fashion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">The Trojans threw down a stunning swim to open the meet in the 200-yard free relay as <strong>Laticia Transom <\/strong>(Australia)<strong>, Jemma Schlicht <\/strong>(Australia)<strong>, Tatum Wade<\/strong> and<strong> Louise Hansson<\/strong> (Sweden) turned in a 1:27.41, easily an automatic qualifying time for the NCAA championships.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">The time was easily the fastest in the NCAA this year, nearly two seconds ahead of the previous best until Tennessee beat that time at their invite.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">Stanford&#8217;s <strong>Lauren Pitzer, Amalie Fackenthal, Brooke Stenstrom<\/strong> and <strong>Anya Goeders<\/strong> also had a strong swim in the event, finishing second in 1:28.88, nearly an \u201cA\u201d cut, but a provisional cut.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">Stanford&#8217;s distance crew predictably took over in the 500 free as <strong>Katie Drabot<\/strong> (4:35.84), <strong>Brooke Forde<\/strong> (4:36.31) and Pitzer (4:38.57) went 1-2-3 in provisional cuts. Drabot was eight hundredths of a second away from an automatic cut.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">USC had a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 IM as Swedish star Hansson won in 1:56.17, ahead of Wade (1:56.48) and <strong>Nicole Pavlopoulou<\/strong>, of Greece, (1:57.84) and Stanford&#8217;s <strong>Allie Szekely<\/strong> (1:57.84), who tied for third.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">Texas A&amp;M&#8217;s <strong>Jing Quah<\/strong> was disqualified for a false start.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">Fackenthal won the 50 free in 22.25 ahead of Schlicht (22.30) and Transom (22.34), NCAA provisional cuts.
