NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Dublin, Ohio native\u00a0Ellie Andrews\u00a0<\/strong>has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Texas and will arrive in Austin at the start of the 2021-22 season along with\u00a0Olivia McMurray<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Andrews is coming off a breakout summer where she finished seventh in both the 100m and 200m breast at Phillips 66 Nationals to secure her spot on the 2019-20 USA Swimming National Junior Team. She also placed seventh in the 50m breast and 100m breast at the 7th FINA World Junior Championships in Budapest.<\/p>\n

She swims year-round with Dublin Community Swim Team under head coach Steven VonSchriltz<\/strong> and owns the Olympic Trials standards in both breaststroke events. She won a pair of gold medals at the MAKO Holiday Invite and earned bronze in the 100m breast at Junior Nationals in 2018.<\/p>\n

A current junior at Coffman High School, Andrews is already a four-time Ohio State Championship finalist. The NISCA and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American won the 200 IM and was the 100 breast runner-up during her sophomore season while placing ninth and second, respectively, in those events during as a freshman.<\/p>\n
