He most recently earned gold in the 50m free and bronze in the 100m free at NCSAs this past summer after recording four best times at Minneapolis Sectionals. Last winter, he raced three events at Juniors West before going on to place fifth in the 100 free and ninth in the 50 free at NCSAs.<\/p>\n<p>A current junior at Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, Boyle is already a three-time Illinois State Championship finalist. He placed third in the 100 free and fourth in the 200 free as a sophomore while taking sixth in the former event during his freshman season. The two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American was also a member of the winning 4&#215;50 and 4&#215;100 free relays in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>He told\u00a0<em>Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>&#8220;I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Virginia. I&#8217;m thankful to my family, friends, and coaches for their unwavering support throughout my journey. Go Hoos!!&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>His best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 free &#8211; 20.26<\/li>\n<li>100 free &#8211; 44.43<\/li>\n<li>200 free &#8211; 1:38.63<\/li>\n<li>50m free &#8211; 23.11 (Olympic Trials cut)<\/li>\n<li>100m free &#8211; 50.75<\/li>\n<li>200m free &#8211; 1:52.65<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Even with 1.5 years of club swimming still to go before suiting up for the Hoos in the fall of 2021, Boyle will add valuable depth to their lineup both individually and on relays. It took a 20.21\/43.76\/1:36.62 to score in the 50\/100\/200 free at the 2019 ACC Championships, but he has consistently made improvements each season, dropping two seconds in the 50 free, four in the 100 free, and 10 in the 200 free over the past two years.
