Parkway West &#8211; 188<\/p>\n<p>The meet began as Central Cape Girardeau&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jacob Bening\u00a0<\/strong>(23.19), Seabaugh (25.14),\u00a0<strong>Josh Glenn\u00a0<\/strong>(24.69), and\u00a0<strong>Atticus Vines\u00a0<\/strong>(23.32) teamed up to win the opening 4&#215;50 medley relay in 1:36.34, just ahead of runner-up Chaminade (1:36.59). Seabaugh (46.88),\u00a0<strong>Truman Vines\u00a0<\/strong>(48.46),\u00a0<strong>Jack Maxton\u00a0<\/strong>(48.74), and Bening (45.70) also won the 4&#215;100 free relay in 3:09.78.<\/p>\n<p>Seabaugh was then quickly back in the water to defend his 200 free title, stopping the clock in 1:40.51 &#8211; just shy of his own Class 1 record he set last year. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/missouri-class-2-record-holder-daniel-seabaugh-stays-in-state-verbals-to-mizzou-tigers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">future Mizzou Tiger<\/a> later went on to dominate the 500 free, winning by seven seconds in 4:28.94 which was fast enough for a new Class 1 record.<\/p>\n<p>After taking second in the event a year ago, Hill raced to first in the 200 IM while dropping five seconds from his prelims to touch in 1:48.62 for a new Class 1 record. Hill, who sent his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/club-north-swimmings-robbie-hill-sends-in-state-verbal-to-missouri-state\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">verbal to Missouri State<\/a>, then powered home to a win in the 100 back, touching the wall in a quick 48.98 to set a new Missouri state record.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AJ Huskey <\/strong>of Battle, who will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/three-time-missouri-class-1-state-champ-aj-huskey-will-stay-in-state-and-swim-for-msu-bears\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">join Hill in Columbia next fall<\/a>, flew to first place in the 100 fly for the second-consecutive year, getting his hands to the wall in 49.87 as the only swimmer to crack the 50-second barrier. After finishing second last year, Parkway South&#8217;s <strong>Brayden Escher\u00a0<\/strong>dove to first on the 1-meter board with a final score of 464.45, just ahead of Park Hill South&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Greyson Langer\u00a0<\/strong>who posted 463.55 points for second.<\/p>\n<p>Hines sprinted his way to the top of the podium for the second-straight year in the 50 free, throwing down a blistering 20.07 to win the event by well over a second en route to setting a new Missouri state record. The junior then proved his sprint by defending his 100 free title in 45.28, fast enough for a new Class 1 mark.<\/p>\n<p>Cole, who earned bronze in the event in 2018, earned gold this year in the 100 breast as the first of only three swimmers in the field to break the minute-marker, doing so in a winning time of 56.69. His time of 56.49 during prelims set a new Class 1 mark. Glendale&#8217;s <strong>Andrew McIllwain\u00a0<\/strong>(22.30),\u00a0<strong>Collin McNew\u00a0<\/strong>(22.65),\u00a0<strong>Jack Beatty\u00a0<\/strong>(21.54), and\u00a0<strong>Michael Jasinski\u00a0<\/strong>(20.91) combined to win the 4&#215;50 free relay in 1:27.50, over a second ahead of runner-up Chaminade (1:28.56).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2019 Missouri Boys Class 1 State Swimming &amp; Diving Championships took place on Nov. 15 at the St. Peters Rec-Plex in St. Peters, Mo.
