NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Indiana University has received a new in-state verbal commitment for their growing class of 2025 from Fishers, Ind. Jackson Carlile <\/strong>who will join\u00a0Luke Barr<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Sean Swift<\/strong><\/a>, Josh Matheny<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Lucas Piunti<\/strong><\/a>, and\u00a0Henry Bethel<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>in Bloomington in the fall of 2021.<\/p>\n

One of the top distance swimmers in the class, Carlile swims year-round with Fishers Area Swimming Tigers under head coaches\u00a0Joe Keller\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Alec Haley<\/strong>. After placing in the top-6 at the 2019 USA Swimming 10K Open Water Championships, Carlile was named to the 2019-20 USA Swimming Open water National Junior Team.<\/p>\n

In the pool, he owns three U.S. Open standards in the 400m\/800m\/1500m free. Carlile finished 12th in the 800m free, 13th in the 400m free, and 17th in the 1500m free at Junior Nationals this past summer. He earned a pair of best times at Juniors East last winter before going on to win the 1000 free at Indiana Seniors as well as earn silver in the 800m\/1500m free combo at Indianapolis Sectionals. A multi-sport athlete, the two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American also runs cross country.<\/p>\n
