As a part of this triple duel for women, the Lady Zips powered to a win over the women from Kenyon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scores:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ohio State Men 207, Kenyon Men 87<\/li>\n<li>Ohio State Women 254, Kenyon Women 40<\/li>\n<li>Ohio State Women 213, Akron Women 85<\/li>\n<li>Akron Women 229, Kenyon Women 60<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ohiostatebuckeyes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/full-meet-results-all.pdf\">RESULTS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Ohio State Press Release<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>COLUMBUS, Ohio<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The Ohio State men\u2019s and women\u2019s swimming and diving program swept the podium in 15 total events on Friday evening against the Akron Zips and the Kenyon Lords and picked up 27 first place finishes out of 32 total events.<\/p>\n<p>Ohio State Men <strong>207<\/strong>, Kenyon Men <strong>87<\/strong><br \/>\nOhio State Women <strong>254<\/strong>, Kenyon Women <strong>40<\/strong><br \/>\nOhio State Women <strong>213<\/strong>, Akron Women <strong>85<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Buckeye women finished the evening 12 first place finishes and seven podium sweeps against Kenyon and Akron. Kathrin Demler was a three-time winner in the 1000 free (9:53.07), 200 free (1:48.73), and 100 fly (56.04). Freya Rayner and Katie Trace were double winners with Rayner winning the 50 free and 100 free and Trace touching first in the 200 fly and 200 IM.<\/p>\n<p>On the 3-meter springboard, the Buckeyes went one-two with Genevieve Angerame finishing first with a score of 336.45 and Lexie Barker following in second at 293.70. Angerame placed first on the 1-meter with a score of 285.25 while Mackenzie Crawford and Barker rounded out the Top 3.<\/p>\n<p>On the men\u2019s side, Ohio State finished first in 15 of the 16 total events against the Lords, with podium sweeps in six races and both diving competitions. Notably, Cameron Craig finished the night as a double winner with a first place finish in the 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly. In the 400 medley relay, Ohio State\u2019s \u201cA\u201d team of Kondalski, DeLakis, Pohlmann, and Craig touched ahead of the Buckeye \u201cB\u201d and \u201cC\u201d teams for a time of 3:17.48.<\/p>\n<p>In diving, the men had a perfect outing on the 3-meter springboard, sweeping the podium and finishing all divers Top 5. Going one-two-three, Lyle Yost picked up a win with a score of 395.60 followed by Jacob Siler with 392.15 and Jacob Fielding at 383.10. Joey Canova followed at fourth (358.35) and Hunter Grannum finished fifth (312.30). The Ladies put up some good individual times, but were overpowered by the host Buckeyes, 254-40, as well as the University of Akron Zips, 229-60.<\/p>\n<p>The Buckeyes finished the evening with a dozen first-place finishes and seven podium sweeps against Kenyon and Akron. There were 16 events in all and Akron swimmers claimed wins in the four events that Ohio State didn&#8217;t win.<\/p>\n<p>For Kenyon, the top finisher was junior <dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/athletics.kenyon.edu\/roster.aspx?rp_id=5514\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"5514\">Crile Hart<\/a><\/dfn>, who took fourth place in the 200-yard individual medley by clocking in at 2:06.44. Earlier in the meet, Hart also logged a 10th-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly. Her time in that race was\u00a02:08.31.<\/p>\n<p>Other top-10 finishers for the Ladies on Friday included freshman <dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/athletics.kenyon.edu\/roster.aspx?rp_id=5529\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"5529\">Ania Axas<\/a><\/dfn>, sophomore <dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/athletics.kenyon.edu\/roster.aspx?rp_id=5523\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"5523\">Andrea Perttula<\/a><\/dfn>, and junior <dfn><a class=\"sidearm-roster-link-normalized\" href=\"https:\/\/athletics.kenyon.edu\/roster.aspx?rp_id=5521\" rel=\"smarttag\" rev=\"5521\">Claire Murray<\/a><\/dfn>. Axas took ninth place in the 100-yard butterfly by clocking in at 58.76. Perttula was 10th in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.06. Murray also placed 10th, but in two events. The first was the 200-yard freestyle, which she completed in 1:58.05. The second was the 200-yard breaststroke, which she finished in 2:29.61.<\/p>\n<p>The Ladies get right back in the pool tomorrow. They don&#8217;t, however, get a break from Division I competition, as they will host Michigan State University beginning at 2 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993366;\">Kenyon Highlights &#8211; Men<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The 400 medley relay team consisting of David Fitch, Luis Weekes, Marcus Hong, and Tommy Weiss finished fourth overall with a time of 3:23.66 &#8211; the third best time in D3 this season<\/li>\n<li>Mark Lang, with time of 9:51.11, finished third place in the 1000 freestyle<\/li>\n<li>Weiss and Fitch led a contingent of Lords who finished 3-4-5-6 in the 50 freestyle<\/li>\n<li>Nicholas Tong was just edged out for the victory by .26 in the 200 back (1:52.32)<\/li>\n<li>Mick Bartholemew led a 2-3-4-5 finish in the 200 breast<\/li>\n<li>Led by Connor Rumpit, the Kenyon men swept the 500 freestyle 1-2-3-4<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008080;\">Akron Highlights<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sarah Watson placed second in the 200 freestyle in 1:50.87<\/li>\n<li>Andrea Fischer captured third in the 100 breast (1:03.03)<\/li>\n<li>Paulina Nogaj swam to a victory in the 200 fly in 1:59.29, winning by over a second<\/li>\n<li>Weronika Gorecka took home the win in the 200 back (1:58.71) with Olivia Gardner taking third (2:01.76)<\/li>\n<li>Fischer jumped up two places from her finish in the 100 to take the 200 breast win in 2:16.68<\/li>\n<li>Watson claimed first in the 100 fly in 55.36<\/li>\n<li>The Z relay team of Nogaj, Morgan Waggoner, Watson, and Sofia Henell finished the meet with a second place effort in the 200 freestyle relay<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Zips compete against Ohio University in Athens, OH, on Saturday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ohio State Buckeyes took care of business at home on Friday, sweeping D3 opponent Kenyon and adding a victory over Akron for the women.
