NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Sprint freestyler\u00a0Ava Hoffman\u00a0<\/strong>of Saint Paul, Minn. has elected to stay in-state for her college career after verbally committing to the University of Minnesota beginning in the fall of 2020.<\/p>\n

Hoffman does her club swimming with Blackline Aquatics and most recently placed 17th in the 50m free at TYR Summer Seniors. She raced the 50\/100 free combo at 2018 NCSAs and took fifth in the 50m free at Minnesota LCM Seniors last summer. Also competing for Visitation High School, Hoffman is a six-time Minnesota State Championship finalist. She earned bronze in the 50 free and took seventh in the 100 free as a junior after taking fourth and third, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.<\/p>\n

She told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I choose Minnesota because of the outstanding academics and incredible swim program. The coaches and team members were friendly and welcoming, and I look forward to being apart of that. Growing up in the Twin Cities, I know I love it here, and I look forward to spending my next four at the U of M!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
