NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>South Burlington, Vt. native\u00a0Miles Cochrane\u00a0<\/strong>has announced his verbal commitment to Penn State and will suit up for the Nittany Lions in the fall of 2020.<\/p>\n

Primarily a breaststroker and IMer, Cochrane currently swims year-round with Green Mountain Aquatics and owns the Winter Juniors standard in the 200 breast. He concluded his successful long course season with four top-10 finishes at New England LCM Seniors where his highest placing was a sixth-place showing in the 200m breast. Last winter, he recorded five best times at the Bowdoin Open before going on to finish 27th in the 200 breast at NCSAs.<\/p>\n

A current senior at South Burlington High School, Cochrane has earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors for his efforts. He is a seven-time Vermont Swim Association state champion, most recently winning four events at the 2019 state meet. He also owns the Vermont state record in the 100 breast for both 15-16 and 17-18 year olds as well as the 200 IM for the 17-18 age group.<\/p>\n
