NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Valparaiso, Ind. native\u00a0Lucas Piunti\u00a0<\/strong>has elected to stay in state for his college career, handing his verbal commitment to Indiana University beginning in the fall of 2021.<\/p>\n

The owner of two U.S. Open cuts, Piunti swims year-round with Duneland Swim Club and most recently placed 12th in the 400m IM this past summer at Junior Nationals. Last winter, he earned bronze in the 400 IM with three additional top-10 finishes at Indiana Seniors.<\/p>\n

A current junior at Chesterton High School, Piunti is already a four-time Indiana State Championship finalist. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American placed fourth in the 200 IM and sixth in the 100 back as a sophomore while he finished 14th and 16th, respectively, in those events during his freshman season.<\/p>\n

I am beyond thankful to be a member of such an amazing team of swimmers and coaches that will continuously push me day in and day out.
