{"id":400030,"date":"2019-10-28T16:10:18","date_gmt":"2019-10-28T23:10:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=400030"},"modified":"2019-10-29T02:46:09","modified_gmt":"2019-10-29T09:46:09","slug":"virginia-gets-class-of-2025-verbal-commitment-from-52-93-154-18-backstroker-reilly-tiltmann","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/virginia-gets-class-of-2025-verbal-commitment-from-52-93-154-18-backstroker-reilly-tiltmann\/","title":{"rendered":"Virginia Gets Class of 2025 Verbal Commitment from 52.93\/1:54.18 Backstroker Reilly Tiltmann"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Virginia has received a big verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Olympic Trials qualifier <strong>Reilly Tiltmann\u00a0<\/strong>of Brookfield, Wis. who will arrive in Charlottesville as a member of the Hoos&#8217; class of 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Tiltmann, who recently attended the National Select Camp, is primarily a backstroker and swims year-round with Elmbrook Swim Club. She placed fourth in the 100m back and ninth in the 100m fly at Junior Nationals this past summer after winning the latter at Wisconsin LCM Seniors. Last winter, she raced four events at Winter Nationals before going on to earn bronze in both the 50 back and 100 back at NCSAs.<\/p>\n<p>A current junior at Brookfield East High School, Tiltmann is already a four-time Wisconsin DI State Championship finalist. She won the 100 back and 100 fly during her sophomore season while finishing fourth in both of those events as a freshman. She has also earned NISCA and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors for her efforts.<\/p>\n<p>Her best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 back &#8211; 24.72<\/li>\n<li>100 back &#8211; 52.93<\/li>\n<li>200 back &#8211; 1:54.18<\/li>\n<li>50 fly &#8211; 24.04<\/li>\n<li>100 fly &#8211; 53.55<\/li>\n<li>50 free &#8211; 23.18<\/li>\n<li>100 free &#8211; 49.54<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>She has already achieved 3 Olympic Trials cuts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>100m free &#8211; 56.26<\/li>\n<li>100m back &#8211; 1:01.94<\/li>\n<li>100m fly &#8211; 1:00.30<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tiltmann is a huge pickup for the Cavaliers. She would&#8217;ve scored in the A-final of the 100 back, B-final of the 200 back, and C-final of the 100 fly and 100 free at the 2019 ACC Championships where Virginia finished second overall in the team standings.
