NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Texas have received their first early verbal commitment for 2021-22 season from one of the top recruits in the class; Fort Myers, Fla. native Olivia McMurray<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

McMurray burst onto the scene this summer, finishing 10th in the 800m free, 15th in the 1500m free, 19th in the 200m free, 25th in the 400m IM, and 26th in the 400m free at Phillips 66 Nationals to be named to the 2019-20 USA Swimming National Junior Team. While representing Team USA at the 7th FINA World Junior Championships in Budapest, she finished sixth in the 800m free.<\/p>\n

McMurray, who has already achieved six 2020 Olympic Trials cuts, does her club swimming with Swim Florida under coaches Mac Kennedy<\/strong> and Rob Pellicer<\/strong>. She finished 17th in the 500 free at Juniors East last winter and earned four gold medals at the Florida Spring Championships. In 2018, she raced to fourth in both the 400m free and 1500m free at Junior Nationals.<\/p>\n

A current junior at Fort Myers High School, McMurray won the 200\/500 free combo during both her freshman and sophomore years at the Florida 3A State Championships. She has also earned both NISCA and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors for her efforts.<\/p>\n
