eye-catching win in the 400m freestyle on Night One.<\/p>\n<p>There was no rest for the lanky teenager who backed up shortly after with a solid fifth place finish in the 200m backstroke (1:55.28) in a race that saw Rio Olympian <strong>Travis Mahoney<\/strong> (Marion) assert his authority on the race, winning in 1:51.28 from<strong> Bradley Woodwar<\/strong>d (Mingara, NSW) and <strong>Tristan Hollard<\/strong> (Southport Olympic) 1:54.39.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kiah Melverton<\/strong> showed no ill-effects from her 800m freestyle win on night one, backing up to lead a podium sweep to the Chris Nesbitt coached TSS Aquatic club with Melverton leading all the way to win in 4:03.50 with Moesha Johnson (4:06.84) again taking the silver with Commonwealth Games butterflyer Laura Taylor (4:06.86) the bronze.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sam&#8217;s the man with new All-Comers Record<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The men\u2019s 100m breaststroke has a new player on the blocks with Firbank Aquastars <strong>Samuel Williamson<\/strong> claiming a new Australian All-Comers record in the heats of 57.62 in the heats (bettering Tommy Sucipto&#8217;s 2016 time of 57.67) to become the 4<sup>th<\/sup> fastest All-Time Australian, before winning gold in the final in 57.94.<\/p>\n<p>In the morning heats it was WA\u2019s <strong>Ben Roberts<\/strong> (Breakers, WA) who stole his first open title, winning the 800mn freestyle from <strong>Sam Short<\/strong> (Albany Creek, QLD) 7:53.44 with 2017 winner and three-time 1500m champion <strong>Joshua Parrish<\/strong> (TSS Aquatic, QLD) 7:53.74.<\/p>\n<p>Short, also an accomplished surf swimmer from a strong family history with Maroochydore SLSC, swam the fastest 800mm SC 800m by a 16-year-old \u2013 faster than previous record holder, none other than Olympic <strong>Jenna Strauch<\/strong> (Bond) claimed back-to-back National titles in the women\u2019s 200m breaststroke with an all-the-way victory in 2:21.75, ahead of <strong>Tara Kinder<\/strong> (DVE Aquatic) 2:23.31 with Sweden\u2019s <strong>Jessica Eriksson<\/strong> third in 2:23.61 and Pelican Waters 2012 Olympian T<strong>essa Wallace<\/strong> taking the third placed Australian in 2:25.05.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the night 17-year-old <strong>Gabriella Peiniger<\/strong> (56.54) claimed her first National open title making her the seventh fastest all-time Australian when she stormed to victory in the women\u2019s 100m butterfly.<\/p>\n<p>The MLC Aquatic teen went out fast and the pack were unable to chase her down, with 16-year-old <strong>Olivia Collins<\/strong> (St
