NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Louisville has officially opened their Class of 2025 recruiting and recently earned an in-state verbal commitment. Junior National qualifier Luke Shourds\u00a0<\/strong>of Bowling Green, Ky. will suit up for the Cardinals at the start of the 2021-22 season.<\/p>\n

Primarily a breaststroker and IMer, Shourds swims year-round with Race Aquatics. He most recently competed at Greensboro Futures this past summer where he finished sixth in the 200m IM, 16th in the 100m breast, and 18th in the 200m breast after registering seven top-5 finishes at the Kentucky LCM Championships. Last winter, he recorded four best times at Southern Zone Sectionals en route to placing fifth in the 100 breast.<\/p>\n

A current junior at Greenwood High School, the USA Swimming Scholastic All-American is a five-time Kentucky State Championship finalist. Shourds finished sixth in the 200 IM and 10th in the 100 breast as a sophomore after finishing 16th and 14th, respectively, in those events during his freshman season.<\/p>\n
