The Wando girls won the team title for the third-straight year while JL Mann took the crown on the boys&#8217; side.<\/p>\n<p><em>Full results can be found on Meet Mobile \u2013 2019 SCHSL 5A Championships<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h1>GIRLS MEET<\/h1>\n<p>Spartanburg\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Sophia Kannee<\/strong> (27.39),<strong> Caroline Byers<\/strong> (30.63),<strong> Annika McEnroe<\/strong> (24.49), and <strong>Kirsti McEnroe<\/strong> (23.35) began the meet with a two-second win in the 4\u00d750 medley relay (1:45.86). McEnroe (52.67),\u00a0<strong>Anna Buchert\u00a0<\/strong>(54.96),\u00a0<strong>Teagan McEnroe\u00a0<\/strong>(54.81), and K. McEnroe (50.55) concluded the meet with a 4\u00d7100 free victory (3:32.99).<\/p>\n<p>K. McEnroe cruised to first in the 200 free, defending her title by over three seconds in a time of 1:50.47. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/three-time-south-carolina-state-champ-aubrey-chandler-verbals-to-in-state-gamecocks-for-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Future Gamecock<\/a><strong> Aubrey Chandler<\/strong> of Fort Mill sprinted to first in the 50 free in 23.25 for the third-straight year. Chandler also earned gold in the 100 free, stopping the clock in 50.51 to edge out runner-up K. McEnroe (51.09).<\/p>\n<p>A. McEnroe flew to the top of the podium in the 100 fly, getting to the wall in 54.58. Her second individual victory of the day came in the 100 back, where she powered home in 55.63 for the win. It was a tight race in the 500 free, with Wando&#8217;s <strong>Estelle Bauer\u00a0<\/strong>ultimately coming out victorious to win in 5:07.99 &#8211; just ahead of runner-up\u00a0<strong>Lauren Murray\u00a0<\/strong>(5:08.16) of JL Mann.<\/p>\n<p>Riverside&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hanna Ownbey<\/strong>, an Auburn commit, repeated as champion in the 200 IM, posting a seven-second victory with a time of 2:02.28. She also successfully defended her title in the 100 breast, getting her hands to the wall the fastest in 1:03.59. Riverside\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Grace Little<\/strong> (25.98),<strong> Mia Boyle<\/strong> (24.61),<strong> Gardner Anne Viney<\/strong> (25.08), and Ownbey (23.44) won the 4\u00d750 medley relay by only three-tenths in 1:39.11.<\/p>\n<h1>BOYS MEET<\/h1>\n<p>Nation Ford\u2019s <strong>George Bujoreanu<\/strong> (25.26),<strong> Lucas Grigat<\/strong> (27.35),<strong> Sam Reiger<\/strong> (23.74), and <strong>Austin Lockhart<\/strong> (20.99) opened the boys\u2019 meet with a close 4\u00d750 medley relay win (1:37.34). Dorman&#8217;s <strong>Jack Parker\u00a0<\/strong>powered home to a gold medal in the 500 free, dropping almost 11 seconds from his prelims time to win in 4:41.70. JL Mann&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Bruce Bannister\u00a0<\/strong>repeated as champion in the 100 breast with a time of 57.70 as the first of only three swimmers to crack the minute barrier.<\/p>\n<p>The 200 free proved to be a close battle as only eight-hundredths separated first and second: Spring Valley&#8217;s <strong>Daniel Todd\u00a0<\/strong>dropped almost three seconds from his seed time to win in 1:43.60 ahead of Lockhart (1:43.68). Lockhart then found himself on top of the podium in the 100 free as the only swimmer in the field under 47 seconds, doing so in a quick 46.98.<\/p>\n<p>Riverside\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Christopher Meier\u00a0<\/strong>successfully defended his state title in the 200 IM, posting a two-second victory to win the event in 1:54.29. Carolina Forest&#8217;s <strong>Harrison Clinton\u00a0<\/strong>posted a narrow victory in the 100 fly, getting his hands to the wall in 50.35 ahead of runner-up and last year&#8217;s champion <strong>JJ Hardy\u00a0<\/strong>(50.44) of Lexington.<\/p>\n<p>Mauldin&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Collin Taylor\u00a0<\/strong>(22.42),\u00a0<strong>Tyler Matthews\u00a0<\/strong>(22.67),\u00a0<strong>Bode Neale\u00a0<\/strong>(21.86), and <strong>Evan <\/strong><strong>Stanislaw<\/strong> (20.83) won the 4&#215;50 free relay in a combined time of 1:27.78. Taylor (48.93),\u00a0<strong>Alex Brodsky\u00a0<\/strong>(48.60),\u00a0Neale (46.91), and Stanislaw (46.28) gave Mauldin another victory in the 4&#215;100 free relay with a time of 3:10.72. Stanislaw, who will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/michigan-state-earns-verbal-from-ymca-national-finalist-evan-stanislaw\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">head off to Michigan State<\/a> next fall, sprinted to first in the 50 free in a swift 21.16.
