NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Tennessee has scored another early verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season, this time from\u00a0Asia Minnes <\/strong>who will join Summer Smith<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>in Knoxville as a member of the class of 2025.<\/p>\n

Minnes lives in Roanoke, Va. but represents Canada internationally.\u00a0An incredibly versatile swimmer, she most recently won the 200m IM at Virginia LCM Seniors in July and was a two-time champion at that meet in February. Last winter, she earned a pair of best times at Winter Nationals and grabbed three gold medals at TYR Junior Nationals in March.<\/p>\n

At the 2019 Canadian Swimming Trials in April, she finished ninth in the 200m IM, 10th in the 100m back, and 13th in the 50m breast. She earned silver in the 200m IM and bronze in the 100m back this past summer at the RBC Swimming Championships and won the 200m IM at the 2018 Canada Junior Championships.<\/p>\n
