She most recently placed 15th in the 100m breast at Junior Nationals this past summer after finishing fourth in that event as well as sixth in the 200m breast at North Carolina LCM Seniors. Last winter, she raced to eighth in the 100 breast at Juniors East before going on to earn a best time at the TYR Pro Swim Series in Richmond.<\/p>\n<p>A current junior at Parkwood High School, Hamblin has won the 100 breast at the North Carolina 3A State Championships during both her freshman and junior seasons. She has also earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors twice in her career thus far.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_397666\" style=\"width: 1870px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-397666\" class=\"wp-image-397666 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Screen-Shot-2019-10-10-at-8.39.04-PM.png\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2019-10-10 at 8.39.04 PM\" width=\"1860\" height=\"1196\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-397666\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo Courtesy: @kaylee_hamblin Instagram<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Her best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>100 breast &#8211; 1:01.20<\/li>\n<li>200 breast &#8211; 2:18.71<\/li>\n<li>100m breast &#8211; 1:11.25<\/li>\n<li>200m breast &#8211; 2:39.97<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Even with just under two years of club swimming still to go before suiting up for the Wolfpack, Hamblin will add valuable depth to their breaststroke group. Her best 100 breast time already would&#8217;ve scored in the B-final at the 2019 ACC Championships where NC State earned their second conference title in three years before going on to finish seventh at NCAAs.<\/p>\n<p>Hamblin will have two years of overlap with <strong>Sophie Hansson<\/strong>, the defending ACC champion in both breaststroke events. The Wolfpack had two swimmers (Hansson and\u00a0<strong>Olivia Calegan<\/strong>) final in the 100 breast at ACCs and three (Hansson, Calegan, and\u00a0<strong>Julia Poole<\/strong>) in the 200 breast.
