At the New Jersey YMCA State Championships in March, he placed 20th in the 200 free. Also competing for Deerfield Academy, Smith recorded a pair of best times and finished 11th in the 100 free at the New England Prep Athletic Conference DI Championships during his sophomore season.<\/p>\n<p>He told\u00a0<em>Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>&#8220;I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim Division 1 at Colgate University. Thank you to all of my friends and family who have supported me along the way. GO RAIDERS!!!&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>His best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 free &#8211; 22.14<\/li>\n<li>100 free &#8211; 48.15<\/li>\n<li>200 free &#8211; 1:45.43<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Smith has consistently dropped time each season and will be a valuable asset to Colgate both individually and on relays.
